Another fine effort by everyone at PEAK RAIL to produce this two day weekend summer steam gala. Featuring three home based loco's but the BIG attraction of course was the beautifully turned out 1935 built 'Jubilee' 45596.
This mainline registered loco has spent a successful six weeks on loan here courtesy of the 'Bahamas Locomotive Society' based at Ingrow on the K&WVR and has been a very popular attraction with enthusiasts & family visitors during her stay.
This gala weekend brings to a close her visit as she will soon move on to the SVR to eventually feature in their autumn steam gala.
It was good to catch up with a few friendly familiar faces on the Peak Rail Team as well as some new people including Steve on the BLS Team who between them brought this prestigeous locomotive to a line that once saw the class in action on London -Manchester expresses.... Thankyou.
Look out for a further video( • A TRIBUTE TO 45596 'Ba... )focusing entirely on 45596 but for now, enjoy seeing all of the steam action along this lovely line through the Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire Dales between Rowsley & Matlock...... Don't take my word for it though, take a visit sometime.
