I picked up violin randomly about five years ago and fell for the instrument. This was my first reel, which I learned playing along to this video. After five years, and playing this again today, I thought it about time to say thank you, what a hugely influential person you are on my playing. You and John Hartford of course! :-)

My name is Aaron. I have just started learning the fiddle at the age of 46. I have Hope's of playing like that some day. Do you think there's a chance?
@peakfiddler5 жыл бұрын
Yes, most definitely. Keep at it, but have fun learning those tunes that you really want to play. Slow them down if necessary, to get the hang of how they are bowed and try to work out the notes of the tune. Try a few simple slides, they are easy and always sound good in a tune.

Thank you for the previous reply. Any suggestions for a intermediate quality fiddle not made in China? It seems everything is made in China and the CCP gets a cut going to build it's military. Would like to find one made in Ireland or the former Scotland (damn Brits!) for around $500.00 USA money. Would like to support the Irish or Scot if any without going over a thousand dollars.
@peakfiddler2 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is look for an older second hand fiddle. Nearly all new hand made fiddles come in around the 2000 dollar mark or more
