Hi Nick, great! Apologies for not posting the link, I’m travelling at the moment, but hopefully it wasn’t too hard to find! There might be other similar products out there, but most seem to be variations on the theme of a dry bag with a roll closure, all of which compress the contents when you attach them. I quite liked the fact that the tail pack has rigid sides and you could pull the straps on quite hard and not crush whatever was in it.

I find your videos not only very helpful but entertaining as well. Who does not like a good parts weigh in. Wondering if you are planing on installing any crash bars the to CRF300 Rally.

🤣. Thanks! Yes on the crash bars. I’m waiting for outback Motortek’s bars to make it to the UK. I’m on their list but they aren’t here yet. I’ll do a video as soon as I have them, and then see how long it takes before I fall off and test them 🤣

hey mate, im tied up between this and a 6.5L base pack. Which did you prefer?
@PeakMotorcycles2 жыл бұрын
For trail riding the 6.5XS. It’s a bit more fiddly to open an close but seems to be better secured and I can fit a waterproof, water bottle, spare gloves and some tools in it. If out filming, the tail pack is good as a sort of top box alternative, but I rarely use mine now.

How big is 8L though? I'm having a hard time judging the capacity. Do you think it could fit hoody+ shoes other clothes. What do you think? Thanks
@PeakMotorcycles3 жыл бұрын
I doubt you’d get shoes in it, for the shape more than size. It’s quite rigid which is good that it doesn’t squash your stuff, but also means that if your shoes are too long, they won’t fit, regardless of the capacity. The dimensions are on the website: enduristan.co.uk/collections/tail-bags/products/tail-pack Maximum length is 24cm, width 22cm and height 15cm, or if inches are your thing L9.5 x W8.5 x H6 inches. If you can fit shoes and a hoodie into that space then probably yes, but I suspect that it will be difficult or impossible. +other clothes might be optimistic too 😉

Thanks for the review. That’s a nice bag, and I could surely use one.
@PeakMotorcycles3 жыл бұрын
So much motorcycle luggage, so little time! 🤣. I guess there's always a few options. The CRF300's don't have a lot of space for a tank bag, and with the fender pack not staying on the Rally very well, I guess it's a tail back or backpack. I already have a camelback which I wear, but I'm reluctant to put too much weight in it so this is a next best option, if I have the rack on.

@@PeakMotorcycles Yep, the dilema of how much to take, and how to carry it all, is universal. Are you familiar with Itchy Boots? She’s been traveling in Africa for the past six months on a 2014 Honda CRF 250L. She has quite a bit of luggage, but seems to handle it all effortlessly. Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman must cringe every time they watch one of her episodes.

Hi thanks for the video, I would be really interested to know if it will fit on the GS that was hiding in the back of shot. I’m looking for something to use on my 1250 when I don’t need something as big as a rear box.
@PeakMotorcycles2 жыл бұрын
Oh. I’ve sold the tail pack a few weeks ago. Please accept my apologies. Though I don’t think it’s the right solution for a GS. The curved clips are the wrong shape for a GS rack. I’ll see what alternatives are available, and welcome to the channel!

Have you settled on the Yamato rack then? I’m trying to decide on a rack for my Rally, which I’m loving! Cheers!
@PeakMotorcycles3 жыл бұрын
I had, but then I ordered a Rally Raid rack…. They are on back order and I’ll do a review as soon as it comes in. I’m also interested in the Outback Motortek frames as a luggage option, also ordered and also on back order! I should have the RR rack in the next week or so. My apologies for the delay. Of the others I’ve tried, the Yamoto seems to be the best of the bunch for me. Lightest, best fit with my Enduristan panniers, looks ok when on the bike with nothing on it and price. If the RR is lighter, and works with my other stuff, then for me, it might be a better choice. I prefer the look of it, but it is more expensive. #toomuchchoice 🤣

Cheers Andre!! Keep up the great work… I’m thinking the YSS shock (sans piggyback) and springs will be my first serious upgrade…

@@luckyintervale I’d also suggest riding it a bit first. You’ll probably get to the same conclusion, but having that before and after feel might be useful. Outback Motortek got in touch. I might have the racks tomorrow 😁😁😁

Hi, for some reason that comment got held for review (and I only just noticed, apologies) the holiday was great! Now looking forward to the next, Milan for EICMA next month. It should be fun, though it’s not known for the weather at that time of year. I’ll be inside for most of the week.
@enduromotorradtouren3 жыл бұрын
@@PeakMotorcycles EICMA Milan is a great show. On press days though, not at the weekend, too full, too noisy. The date is rather late this year, the first week of November was always perfect to combine with a few days at Lake Iseo/Como/Varese, Lago Maggiore. Milan is also good for public transport e.g. to EICMA at Rho. Pity I'm not going this year. First miss in 25 years. There simply isn't too much new stuff in the pipelines. So we meet another time. Cheers, Günter

@PeakMotorcycles Жыл бұрын
May I ask why you think that? The Enduristan website said 8L. So does everyone else that sells it. I must admit I haven’t actually measured it though. Where did you see 6L? www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/490442 It has now been replaced in their range by two, one is smaller at 6L and the other is slightly larger at 9L. Perhaps it’s the new small one that you’d seen. That isn’t the same as this though. Thanks anyway.

How did ur new shock doo im just about to purchase a rally 300 but im 300lbs & would want a good rear shock & probly do the add another front fork spring
@PeakMotorcycles3 жыл бұрын
Rear shock is good. I'd definitely recommend it. It does make the bike stand taller though, so I'm toying with either a longer sidestand or to fit a Kouba link to lower it a little. Drop a note to Brook Suspension www.brooksuspension.co.uk/ and I'm sure they can go through the various options.

@@malcolmfarmer2006 yup. My Nitron R1 and Andreani forks have stopped that. I’m not riding anything extreme, but as my speed picks up, particularly on rolling bumps and rocky trails, I was quickly running out of travel on stock and bottomed out a few times which was knocking my already limited confidence. @@malcolmfarmer2006 Yup, though in a way, there's something nice about not paying for fancy suspension that still isn't sprung for every rider. Probably better, for a CRF300 at least, to keep the price down, and those that want to do something different can pick something that suits them. Plenty of folks will ride it stock and be happy with it. I should have probably just gone on a diet! 🤣
