There's a church around me here a bunch of the old ladies get together before Christmas to raise money and they make batches and batches of it and pour it into a pie pan. It's the same thickness as that you have and sell the circle for 5 bucks, i buy as many as i can it's so good.

Make sure you have plenty of room in the pan for expansion. The first time I made it I didn't know this. Hot sugar everywhere!

Your buddy wasn't really clear about the water. Did he add it to the karo in the bowl before pouring it into the pan? And how much water was added? And in the pan?

Is a 1/2 cup of water. I usually mix the water into the syrup better so the syrup isn’t stuck to the sides of the measuring cup. Some recipes call for 1 cup of water. You don’t need that much though and if you use more it will just take longer to cook it away to the soft ball stage.
