If you're getting issued leather boots (not the canvas ones) rub shaving cream into the leather before you shine them. It will break them in VERY quickly. Old trick from a Marine.

I'm a HUGE whimp when it comes to needles and shots! I'd still be able to suck it up if need be. Hospital corners! oh my gosh, my dad was in the Air Force and he taught me hospital corners when i was little.. and i STILL do them! BEST way to make your bed! No matter how much you toss and turn, you never get untucked!

ur required to do a couple floats, and there are instructors there that will ask ''does anyone need time to practice or learn before they take the final swim test'' at that time, you say you do, and you will practice that float. if you can jump off the thing and swim, that's great, you do that once and your'e good. you'll just have to go swimming *they make time for you almost every ;day to go until you get it) and you will get that final stamp on your hard card when you pass that float!

If its possible to get it, slather saddle soap on your boots when you first get them. We dipped our in hot water then slathered the saddle soap. By the end of the first day our boots were so very comfy.

I just got back from a 9 month deployment on the lincoln , had some friends that were ATO's ...... if your on a carrier you will be on the flight deck a lot , i am an AM3 , but also a qualified LSE which means I was basically on the flight deck all day landing helo's ......... but yeah if you think A school is chill , wait till you get to your first real command , GL !

we ran for 20 minutes straight once. it was toward the end. they called it the 20 minute sustained run. it's not mandatory you run the entire time, but it's ugly if you don't lol. otherwise just look up your PRT standards and see if you can run a mile and a half in the allotted time

hi your videos are awesome and hilarious lol. im shipping out dec 3rd at RTC and i dont know how to float -_- but i can swim for about 50 to 75 yards. i know it doesnt make sense lol ive been really workin on my swiming not floating because swimming pools at LA fitness aint that deep. im just really curious about floating. hows the swim test? do they teach me how to float or does the navy kick people out who doesnt know how to float like me? thanks in advance.

On the peanut butter shot, one CC told me after basic was over (they were very friendly then) that one time he had a recruit to start crying because someone told him that they gave that shot with a square needle in the left testicle. And he believed it.

You had it easy we did pt everyday regardless of uniform yet I was at Great lakes in 88 . We were dropped on the grinder an did push ups in 8 inches of snow , I know they would never do that now . Good luck

I've got that Peanut Butter shot twice, for Pneumonia, and it hurts like hell. My cousin gets them once every month for allergies and told me they didn't hurt. So the first time I got the shot I didn't think it was gonna be a big deal. It felt like I got shot repeatedly in the ass by paintball guns. I had trouble walking out to the car.

The Peanut Butter Shot is a gamma globulin shot given to boost the recruit's immune system to help prevent illness while at the RTC. It is VERY thick, thus the name, and somewhat painful. Some Recruits will be unable to get it due to previous allergic reaction to penicillin. Note: The gamma globulin shot DOES NOT contain penicillin, but a high percentage of people who have a reaction to penicillin also have a reaction to gamma globulin since the gamma globulin is derived from blood serum and may contain penicillin antibodies, so they don’t give it to them. Recruits who are allergic to penicillin wear a red sign stating that and are given an alternative shot or pills. This means some recruits may get the Ricky Crud worse than others.

I'm joining the navy and I'm extremely nervous for the shots process. I have a fear of needles and I hate the pain. The arms I'll be able to handle, but I've never had a shot in the ass before, so I'm pretty nervous about that one lol and honestly doesn't seem healthy how they just shoot you up with vaccination after vaccination in the same spots, one after another. But whatever lol
