I would've assumed that a digger like Wolf would spend more than $200 on records. That's cool as hell to me! Gives people that don't have big money hope that they can still find awesome stuff.

I first heard of Peanut Butter Wolf around 5 years ago while searching for rappers/ hip hop producers from San Jose, Ca. since that's where i'm from. About 3 months ago my Uncle told me that P.B.W. is his really good friend and they went to high school together. Now my Uncle is trying to link me up with P.B.W. & Stones Throw Records.. hope it happens soon!!!

I remember my brother had that Realistic Radio Shack Mixer,no tables.He used to try to fuck me up for stealing it all the time.The crossfader was horrible because it bled like crazy but it was better than what I was using.I would take hook my turntables on to this stereo receiver I rigged one table on the right speaker and one on the left and use the balancer as my crossfader.

Steve Vai played all the guitars on the PIL album. That was a great album...came out while I was in high school. Not as great as Never Mind The Bullocks, of course.
@therealjeff80869 жыл бұрын
BHAKTI BROPHY I really don't think that's true at all. (the Steve Vai comment)
@BHAKTIBROPHY9 жыл бұрын
Jeff Nolan Actually, I'm friends with Steve. He recorded the guitars in his studio in LA and sent the tapes back England. Maybe other guitars were added in England? But Steve did the crux of the studio guitars with on that album. It's factual buddy.
@therealjeff80869 жыл бұрын
You're talking about a much later PIL album, not Metal Box. it's well known Keith Levene was the guitar player on this. It's also well known The Edge copied his playing style also btw. I'm not familiar with newer Lydon only records by them but your comment led me to dig a little and found out Vai did play on a PIL album, but not this one. That's pretty interesting.
@BHAKTIBROPHY9 жыл бұрын
Jeff Nolan He played on GENERIC, their first album. I don't recall my comment...Maybe I was answering someone about Generic? He wasn't credited on the original LP (I've been listening to Steve since the Zappa years...I would have freaked out if I knew that was him I was listening to!!). I found out around 1999. That's basically when he decided he didn't want to go the session player route. I'm glad he didn't!!! I loved some of the PIL tunes, don't get me wrong, I'm just glad he decided to focus on his own music. : ) Have a great evening. (Or day/afternoon). ;)
@BHAKTIBROPHY9 жыл бұрын
PS You can hear some of the tunes Steve played on from Generic on one of Steve's CDs from his SECRET JEWEL BOX. I think they're still available to buy without the entire box. If you're interested, I'd have to get the box out of the attic and check which compilation Vai CD it is. But the PIL album was the first one (maybe it wasn't the first, perhaps just the first I recall after the demise of the Sex Pistols)...white with the blue line. Like the generic cereal boxes from the early 80s. It wasn't actually titled "Generic" (on the original LP, anyway). That was YEARS ago. I was either a freshman or sophomore in high school, so either '83-'85.
