Just seeing this specific interview of Mr. Q-Tip's vinyl collection by Gayle ( who has scant know how of the real art form of black music). Amazing collection though and I am really impressed and proud of his attention to detail and organization. I do recall Q-Tip DJing often at the Irving Plaza joint in Manhattan. Last but not the least, I used to purchase lots of vinyl from a gentleman who was normally frequented by Jazzy Jeff and DJ Todd Terry back in the nineties.

You have the chance... To see q-tip greatest secret vinyls of an entire life, he could speak for days about albums and music... And you look for Beatles.

I remember seeing him on my lunch breaks near 23rd Street. Back in the day there used to be a vinyl store down on 23rd Street.

I could only imagine what his collection would've been like if he never had that fire...

curly sue Yeah in '98 Tip had a fire at his house. He lost his vinyl collection and a bunch of masters to unreleased Tribe tracks.

This just shows that any genre of music can cross-influence another genre's sound
