This was my introduction to this piece, but when I was little and watched this on cable, it didn't occur to me what the images were hinting at--that Schroeder was actually imagining himself in Beethoven's place, perhaps even channeling his spirit. He's imagining the things Beethoven experienced during his lifetime...the churches, the skyline and streets of Bonn, the art and the statues...and, finally, the composer's deathbed.

wonderful. This second movement has to be one of the greatest pieces of music ever wrurren and the guy played with soul. he totally went fortissamo on the bass, just hammering those keys!

Un excelente tributo al inolvidable Ludwig Van Beethoven y con que razón Schroeder lo admiraba mucho y tenia bueno gusto por la música clásica. An excellent tribute to the unforgetable Ludwig Van Beethoven and no wonder Schroder admired him a lot and he had a good taste for classical music.

Beautiful animation!! I remember watching this as a kid and could never forget the music. It was the first Beethoven piece I ever liked. Still my favorite piano piece after 25 years. Thank you for sharing this video. 💗
