So with all due respect, are you just teasing us? You've never owned a cast iron skillet? Well miss get ready, there's a whole new world about to open for you. You haven't asked but I'm going to recommend anyway get yourself a skillet first from Lodge. They are fantastic, durable ( there are lodge cast iron pieces that are 100 years old still being used) and not expensive. Start with a 12". That's a real work horse. But I love my 10". Of course I love my 8" and yes even my 6". After you get your first skillet consider getting a Dutch oven. Have a great day. 🍳🍳🍳👍

@@vachicoff-roadcooking6697 fyi, I checked to see if you had a channel and saw you did so I subscribed and will be checking out your vids. So one last thought/ suggestion. I mentioned about getting a Dutch oven. Well with your outdoor thing happening you really need to get a " camp fire" type of Dutch Oven. They have the 3 little legs built into the bottom with a lid that holds additional coals. Anything you can do in a oven you can do in the woods if you have a big enough Dutch oven. Last thing, I've been trying to get started with my own channel but still getting started. Mostly going to be bbq. But also a farm and field ( salmon fishing, Crabbing, mushroom hunting, etc. ) to the table and I will be doing LOTS of cast iron cooking including camp fire cooking. So when I'm up and running I'll let you know so you can check that out. Have a great day. 😃🔥

A nice, smoky ham is one of my favorite things to eat. I normally do a simple honey-cinnamon glaze, but wow Grumpus, yours with a pear bourbon glaze looks amazing!!

I really could watch more videos from you. If your watch time is low on this people really need to get a clue. I really like your problem solving during cooks. You did the same with the turkey. Amazing job sir. You really know your pit. You posted on a live stream that smokers need to get to know their own pits. You practice what you preach cuz you knew how to drop that temp. Man I wish you made more videos. Great work.

Howdy sir. So this mourning i stumbled down to the kitchen and looked at my tablet and low and behold I saw you attempted a live test. I tried checking it out and everything disappeared including your thumbnail. I was sure I saw something but now it was gone. Luckily it was there still on my cell and so I took a screenshot of it. WHAT you say? Well let's just say it appears that its " cold" again and you were dressed for it. Looking forward to seeing you at Dashes live tonight. LOL Victor. 16deg last night. We are really not prepared for this kinda cold. Hurricanes, yes… but not freezing. I spent most of today thawing frozen pipes. Currently wearing flannel over flannel 😉! Com'on summer!!!😁😁😁

@@GrumpusOnFire good to hear your alive and kicking. Frozen pipes, we'll it's probably to late to remind you to leave your water running just a little through outside wall pipes so they can't freeze. Remember to join us tonight with Dash so everyone can lend you and your neighbors so moral support. Fyi,the coldest we have gotten this year was 29° f. It's currently 35° f. I believe being a active pitmaster in Texas this winter qualifies as a " extreme "sport. I'm heading back to bed. Be safe my friend. 😃👍🍻🔥🔥🔥

Hi Victor. Thanks for checking in. I think we are gonna make it! I’m just dealing with the bitter cold, frozen pipes, power outages, dropped phone service and intermittent internet/cable. Pretty much like the other 4+ million folks here in Texas. BUT, at least I have my fireplace running 👍… now if I could just fit a brisket in there… 😂😂😂!

@@GrumpusOnFire I really don't want to be funny at others exspence,especially these conditions. That said, I have to believe everyone with a offset or vertical smoker are having very smug looking faces when talking to their friends and family who have pellet cookers. Although I believe some manufacturers made their units tl.be able to work off of 12 v for camping and competitions. Anyway, glad to here you're doing well enough. Believe it or not this cold event you folks are actually effecting me all the way up here. I have to believe this is going to delay my IVS delivery time from LSG by at least a week. Originally I should have received my smoker by now. I still haven't heard from them so I don't believe I'm going to see my smoker until next month. I have to be honest, I'm not happy about this. It's beginning to hold back my catering business. Patience, I know, Patience. 😠
