How does one even begin to think about painting in a sketchbook like this? So meticulously crafted

And yet, it was Made to be used. Think of it as cake, it might be very pretty but if You don't eat it , it goes stale and into the trash. If You had Made the cake You would be dissapointed.

As a person with my own "Old lady hobbies" as my friends say, I can tell the care you put into keeping the tension the same throughout the binding process with that thread. It seemed similar to my struggle to keep the tension of my yarn steady when knitting and crocheting, and my struggle to keep the stitches at the same tension while embroidering as to avoid warping the fabric haha. Funny how two very different hobbies can have at least one thing in common

I remember doing this for my 6th Grade class. I didn't have enough sketchbook and thought it would be good idea to try book making with my student... I was so wrong. They struggled to fold the paper in half and when it came to punching the holes it was always just a little crooked. By the end I had to make the books myself. It was incredibly time consuming. And as much as I love book bidding it really is something you have to be older to really appreciate and do. Still lovely video. ❤

I love how you used the little dishes filled with watercolor to make gifts. Though you make your own watercolors. have you tried sumi ink ? or BOKU - UNDO shadow black and shadow black MEI watercolors? The colors they make are very rich and pigmented and can be translucent to opaque depending on the amount of water used. very subtle to intense colors.

Pov. You are book binder who is still learning about your job in school, so you have touch with handmade books in school and with special machines, when one of the smallest is size of your couch, at work, but you still on the end of the day watch others people doing your job, bc on videos it only looks like hobby you actually want to do. But mostly you're reading comments, finding that people don't see book binding as some hard work, but relaxing one. Wild

I made my very first paint today, this and some other creators has inspired me, but I quickly learned I needed a bigger workspace and better tools to scrape the paint together with (I used a ruler, it got very messy) I don't have a muller, used a flatbottom glass. The paint came out beautyful and okay, although I thinknit was a little thick. I know this is an old video and not intstructional but could you, perhaps give suggestions on the ratio of how much pigment you use for the amount of binder. It looked like a tablespoon of powder ? But I couldn't quite see the rest. Other guides said I should measure things, my kitchenscale isn't sensitive enough.
