Mia Goth has a God given talent. That monologue was one of the best I've ever experienced on the silver screen. By the way the extended smiling at the end was originally not in the scripts. It was a spontaneous idea of Mia and apparently the crew liked it, and somehow it crowned the whole movie. I mean there is a distinctive kind of black humour in this movie and that awkwardly long smile perfectly fits that atmosphere.

Great movie! Mia Goth is absolutely amazing! 🤩 I had the same questions at the end. I would love to know what happened from the end of this one to the beginning of X. There’s like a whole other movie in there, maybe more. I’m definitely looking forward to Maxxxine and I’m dying to know what genre of horror that’s going to be. X was mostly a slasher, Pearl was more a character study like Psycho. I’m hoping it’s supernatural this time. Something that explores how Maxine is Pearl’s doppelgänger🤔 Anyway you guys are fun! I have a crazy prediction and I haven't heard or seen anything to support this; what if Maxxxine and Pearl are related somehow and thats why they look so much alike? Maye the baby Pearl thought was dead never died and a nurse/doctor got a hint of Pearl's illness and decided to hide them away.

This movie reminds me of modern society with young people(gen z) obsessed with influencer/hookup culture and social media. They want the same affection and attention as these "perfect" people with hour glass bodies, healthy diet, makeup accessories, onlyfans, but feel like they're not good enough to be popular.

My theory is that a lot of this movie is presented like a really beautiful movie set in the golden age of cinemas, but the ugliness slowly reveals itself. So I don't condone anything that pearl did...but she almost seems childlike but with adult expectations on her. With feelings and ambitions and not wanting traditional 'womanly' things like children....and then you look at the Starletts of this time and how poorly they were treated and how just under the surface of this beautiful facade is just...all this rotten stuff just below the surface. I dunno I thought it was cool.
