Yes, the film is solid and it gives you in your face action because the remake movies normally trash. Evil Dead Rise is more like advantageous and fun to watch. I love this franchise as each movie has its own flavour.

This is one gnarly ass movie that I freakin love sm. It’s demented asf with a great journey from the final girl victim, villain, and hero all in one movie. It’s so brutal like damn the cutting the tongue in half transition into a kiss made me gag. I’m happy that they made the idiot who started all of this suffer bc that’s wha he gets for ignoring the warnings on a creepy ass book.

this is the best one to me, way better than the 2023 one. better story line, and the main girl is just awesome. i saw behind the scenes with the blood rain part, she went through a lot in that scene. the scene where he buried her she actually got buried for that part.

Ash vs Evil Dead is literally the best horror show of all time. It balances horror and comedy in the best way possible. Check the rotten tomatoes scores, trust. The show is a sequel to Evil Dead 1 - 3, definitely watch those first and binge the show.

You need to check out the original Evil Dead trilogy that was directed by guy who directed the original Spider-Man trilogy. Then after that you need to check out Ash versus the Evil Dead TV series wish take place 30 years after the original trilogy. Is probably one of the best horror / comedy TV series there is to date. That also goes for Chucky based off your preference.

It’s really too bad you guys didn’t watch this series in order. 1980’s movies were really progressive with the practical effects, but still traditionally 80’s “Camp”. The 2013, is the true horror /homage. You unfortunately didn’t see the Easter eggs, b/c you don’t have the background from the original 3 movies. And still since watching Evil Dead Rise, I can tell you were not able to be surprised by some of the special effects/ gore in this movie. (For example: Natalie’s “hand” scene.) After the second original movie, you’ll understand.

While you should absolutely watch all three of the original films, you should also be made aware that Evil Dead 2 is technically, partly, a remake of the first Evil Dead because of licensing and resource issues. Sam Raimi and his team didn't have ownership of the original film. So the first 10-15 minutes of Evil Dead 2 sort of "recaps" what happened in the first film but with new footage and characters (aside from Bruce Campbell playing Ash).

Despite often being called a remake, this film is actually a sequel to the original film, set about 30 years later. However, the nature of its sequel-ness dictates that it exists in an alternate universe in which Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and Ash vs Evil Dead never take place. This has to do with the ending of the first film and its intended takeaway, and the subsequent films changing that ending. Evil Dead Rise is a big harder to place, as it is a complete spin-off and doesn't reference the events of any other Evil Dead property. I would like to say it's in the same universe as this film, based on knowledge from the show that seems to not affect Rise at all, but even I can't be certain of that.

These completely handmade special effects, underpinned by a nasty sound design, are so excellently tricked out that they almost steal the show from the actors playing for their lives. The splatter homage - co-produced by Raimi and using an alleged 190,000 liters of fake blood - literally pumps its way into the heart of the horror fan. A magnificent horror film whose suspenseful course, in combination with the editing, the sound and the incredibly well-made special effects, is as brilliant as it is disturbing.

This is my least favourite horror movie remake ever. The only two I can think of that I really hate is this one and the nightmare and elm Street remake. To me nothing can beat the original evil dead movies with Bruce Campbell and the ash vs evil dead show. Now that is evil dead

Evil dead is one of my favourite movie! The gore is just so damn good and it's so entertaining to watch!! Especially the scene where the dead bites said "why don't you come down here so I can suck your c*ck pretty boy" "Mia is not here you fucking idiot! Your sister is being ripped in hell!" It's so damn hilarious!!! Idk why evil dead 2013 is your least favourite remake. For nightmare of elm street 2010.I like it. It's a 7.8/10 for me.
