I bought a DD double pedal about 6 months ago... Price tag of 699CD was a little more than the Axis pedals.. but being that its made by pearl.. I figured the extra 60 bucks was worth it... and BOY WAS I RIGHT.. These pedals are INSANELY responsive.. I play alot of heel-toe at 200+bpm.. Ive never played a pedal that could stick to my feet through long rolls.. untill the DD! It has the pro price tag.. But if your looking for PRO gear.. its well worth the money! Another great PEARL innovation!

Great demonstration video! I bought mine a couple years ago and I am very happy with them! I tried them out along with Trick and Axis pedals, and the Demon Drives kicked their ass. No doubt the best pedal to date!

i own a DW 5002 pedal and i love it. i tried the demon drive out at my local music store and i must say, its very very smooth and can be controlled very well. but IMO its a bit on the light side, i like a little bit of weight in the pedals so i can get some more power from the stroke, other than that they are good pedals and i would recommend them to anyone (who has a deep pocket).

@deathdrummerwild It depends what feel you want. Speed Cobra is a chain drive, so if you're used to a chain drive feel but want the lighter feel and leverage of a longboard pedal, you want the Speed Cobra. Direct drive is a different feel entirely, but you might like it. After playing both, I personally prefer the Demons, and my pedals are Iron Cobras.
@0p3nURiZ14 жыл бұрын
@MrSlimshady2014 the problems Ive heard from many people with the axis pedals is they tend to rattle appart at the seams (so to speak) I keep hearing horror stories about little parts and screws breaking and or falling out while playing and after speaking with my local music store guru he mentioned that nearly every axis pedal he has ever sold.. has come back for SOME kind of minor repairs.. Axis (IMO) still has some growing pains before they catch up to pearl when it comes to durability!

i use Axis and i personally feel that Axis is better then thse pedals. and people who say axis suck, you guys never took the time to actually get used to them. when i first got them i hated Axis pedals, buh it took about a good 3 months buh afterwards i realised i LOVED them. No other pedal for me. Using Axis pedals is like an aquired taste. like beer and wine.

i love the feel or tricks also buh the thing i find with DDs is that it feels heavier then both trick and axis. the DDs almost imitate the feel or a regular pedal while still having components of what axis and trick has. it really is preference cuz when you get axis or trick pedals it would take you sometime to get used to them because the feel is COMPLETELY different. buh i think once you get used to your pedal youll be in double bass drumming heaven :)

Marketing is supposed to be boastful, hence the endless superlatives, 'only in the world!' etc. That said... this really is some damned good engineering. That is a WILD range of adjustment for feel and response. And in order for all of that to work right... you've gotta have very tight tolerances in manufacturing. Hence the fancy bearings etc. I think a design this complex, if you cheaped out and allowed to much wiggle and play, the whole thing would fall apart. Binding up, jamming etc. So to implement this design, all those details he was showing off have to be just so. Of course he would say 'it's the best pedal in the world!'... but it is fair to say it's a legit contender. Short/long, heavy/light, power/finesse etc, etc. You can make it an outstanding version of whatever your preference is, or change config for different styles. He didn't even get into how, if you have true double bass, you can break the link, move a few parts and have 2 stand alone pedals for left and right. Built into the design to work as a double or 2 singles. There is no absolute, singular 'best' anything... but this is impressive hardware extremely well thought out. When I first head about these, I thought maybe it was gimmicky, or prone to problems due to complexity. Reviews say otherwise, one of the more loved pedals out there. I don't know the names of the engineers that designed this thing... but damn... they did some freakishly good work here.
@JamieDrumz15 жыл бұрын
I went through this debate with myself for weeks. I kinda decided Pearl though. The demon drive is used more in general, it's more durable, and Pearl make overall good products. Also, the demon drive is more customisable when it comes to ease of use. With axis you either have very very very horribly customisable (Which some people may like) or barely not customisable at all. Thats why the Demon Drive is better, the amount of adjustability is perfect. (Please excuse any typos)

Trick Pro 1Vs ARE badass, the mofo's are made out of AL-13 Aluminum, LOL. The only thing they can't do that the Pearl can is switching from longboard to a shortboard, but the Pearl's Demon Drive lonboard settings aren't really longboards. And if you want longboards, you can obviously go with the Pro 1V Bigfoot. The Trick pedal has more innovations though, but also has a larger learning curve. Both pedals are good, just all personal preference. Though, I would go with the Dominator by Trick.

@LigmaMale6910 жыл бұрын
Because some people just like chain driven pedals more.
@iDrumGod9 жыл бұрын
You can't seriously be asking that question..? Chain isn't 'better' than strap, direct isn't 'better' than chain etc. What do YOU want from you pedal, and what do YOU want from you playing? Someone playing an electronic pop gig with a Roland kit isn't gonna use a fucking Demon Direct Drive. They'd probably use a strap drive pedal because it's lighter and quieter. Do you want to play Xtreme-Heavy-DeathGrindCore..? ..buy some fucking direct drives
@melonxo6 жыл бұрын
If you need something cheap and light, chain drive is the way to go
