This was the first rock song i ever heard. Met a dude as a kid on vacation in Italy who was 2 years older than me and we were the only 2 dutch kids on the camping so we hung out. He was really into rock and he made me listen to this song in his parents caravan and it was awesome. Now im 30 and i still listen to this song a lot

Yeah, I have to admit that's excellent. I've only recently started listening to them after I stumbled onto Eddie Vedder's cover of Masters of War by accident, on a video recorded for Dylan's 30th anniversary. Then I listened to Ten and Vs, just to check them out - I wasn't disappointed. Best live band of all time? That's difficult to say. Queen could have given them a good run for their money in their day. Different eras though, so it's all hypothetical.

I want to comment about Dave cause I think he doesn't get the credit he deserves. I'm a massive Pearl Jam fan and for me the sound that made them the legendary band that it is today is based on this man's approach to drumming. His pocket is perfectly laid back enough to give tracks the looseness that it needs to flow correctly. If you are a musician you know that there are lots of ways to land or fit inside a certain tempo, and this guy manages to do that in a perfect way. You could be a technical prodigy and be able to play any groove or any time signature, but these little things are what separate a great musician from a gifted one.

I'm forty one and I just watched this for the first time. I was thinking yesterday how Vedder could take a negative experience and make it sound so positive. This performance reveals some of the pain. And they are still performing just as visceral in 2017 being inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame early this year.

Years passed, and many of us continue to enjoy it and see with great nostalgia that the best drummer was undoubtedly Dave Abbruzzese. The strength, image and style that he added were very noticeable. Jeff Agent's funky hats back in the day 😆😆😆 God I miss this era...born same year as most of these guys 1964... I was in my mid-twenties and able to get into small venues when they first came out. Old enough to be legal and drink. Grateful I was able to see them before they were so big that you couldn't even get close to the stage. Great times, all the bands from this generation
