That night was great. Was a pre Lollapalooza show, so the crowd was almost 100% hard fanbase as I am. I remember when Ed dedicated “come back” to his uncle that have passed away recently and to Chris Cornell. And I broke my heart crying. I did cried in many pearl jam gigs, but this once was special. Months before that night at Movistar i was this close to made a very bad mistake.

I thought I would suggest this live performance. He wrote this for Johnny Ramones wife when he passed. This particular performance was for the 10 year anniversary of the Roskilde tragedy when 9 of their fans were killed in a crush when they rushed the stage. He was actually crying before this as they had just sang black and the emotion and interaction of the crowd overwhelmed them. This song started with a moments silence to honor the fans who died. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o52XeYGrirKXbqc

One of the loudest concerts I’ve ever been to….Pearl Jam was either 98 or 99 kinda freaked me out a little. I’m talking about the audience….. I was like what the flip is going on here?! That whacky backy we partook in walking in didn’t help had me thinking is this arena going to hold up? The roar in the place for 30 minutes before the band hit the stage was deafening so dang loud 5 songs in I could barely hear the music. I’m not ignorant to the fact it happens with lots of great bands in the right place and atmosphere. But I think there must have been some angst or pent up something going on in that “small town”. I just thought I was a live music lover. Shhhh was KA-RAZY.
@timothydavid45654 жыл бұрын
Classic song, I’m thinking this was requested for the location and audience, as I’ve seen PJ in other live performances of this song more energetic and better execution of the song. I’m guessing headbangers ball had a live performance of some kind, as there was no official music video. After Jeremy they didn’t release a music video until 98 and it was a cartoon video for Do the Evolution.
@timothydavid45654 жыл бұрын
Looked it up, looks like headbangers ball in 94 did cover the band on tour, interviews and music.

@@THEDavidHeretic that's an epic TV performance, many fans start to like the band after seeing that. I was turn into a fan a year earlier when they perform in 92 mtv awards performing Jeremy live. That performance cemented PJ as my new favorite band...

I'm sure you've seen this one, but this blew my mind regarding South American crowds. Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger - River Plate, Argentina. Noel can barely hold himself together from crying. "Feel free to join in on the chorus..." Stadium, "Pssh, chorus my a$$, hold my cerveca..." kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6GxeaSAqJyljrM

I believe south americans are more expresive while listening to any kind of music. But more than this, international singers don't often tour here, so tickets are usually expensive and bough with months in advance, we have time to learn the songs and improve the english singing skills.

Love your reactions but I think these newer shows aren’t nearly as good as the early ones from 1991-1994 because of a few reasons. One their drummer Dave Abruzzese was fired after their 1994 tour and he played a huge factor in their sound. Two eddies voice changed and lost his power and emotion. Last it sounds like a cover band playing their old songs. They don’t sound as into them as say their Pinkpop performance, but how could they be playing those songs so much through their career. All I’m saying is if you want to see Pearl Jam at the top of their game look through the years 1991-1994 and you will get some outlandish performances. In early years Vedder would climb the stage and come eye to eye with death while the band is jamming. I think you should check out Release live in Holland. That’s all, great video man!

Thank you for the kind words, they're greatly appreciated. Yeah I did a reaction video to a performance at PinkPop '92, I think the song was "porch"...it's in my videos somewhere. I'll give you the link here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5fUmoytZZinq7s I'll have to check out some more of their live stuff from their earlier years, I've had a number of people suggest I do that.
