I recall sitting in the hospital in November of 2014. My 5th and final daughter was about to be born just hours away from it........ We were listening to music and one of the Pearl jam versions of this song came on. I smiled... My girlfriend looked at me and asked what I was smiling about. I held her hand and told her I had just figured out what I wanted to name our daughter. I named two of my five girls. I understand why they perform this song and I know who it was dedicated to I know the story behind it............. This song will always always always always have a special place in my heart.

@@laurawatters914 I know how you feel. Like I say I never got to see them until the mid 2000s then again in 16 and 22. Was a bit embarrassing, (but I really didn't care) getting teary eyed multiple times in front of my wife because I'd waited so LONG to hear certain songs in person and had spent countless hours listening with an old gf whom I'm still in contact with anytime Pearl jam is up to something. Asked her to find you in these comment sections as you and her to me are the biggest PJ fans out there and I wish/hope like hell you BOTH will get to see them sometime. :) ROCK ON LAURA!!!

My name is David. I love Eddie Vedder. i'm 50. I learned to sing and play guitar like him. When I turned this video on I thought it was for me for 10 seconds. I had to work, friends had tickets for me to go, but i worked instead because in this day and age its' too scary to throw your job away and be homeless. I love this band and this is one of my all time favorite songs to listen, sing, or play on guitar.
