I was introduced to Pearl Jam on my first date with my wife and i introduced her to mother love bone. 32 years later were still going strong with five girls who are also huge fans. Weve seen PJ 27 times and next month it will be 28 at the Ohana festival in Dana Point Cali 😁👍❤️🏄. We will be there on our oldest girls 28ty bday😊. Ive been privileged to meet and surf with eddie and i can tell you he is the nicest down to earth human being who loved our 3 German shepherds and drank a beer with us before going our separate ways. Grateful for the life i have and more so grateful for my wife and girls who have shared my ongoing addiction to PJ. Dreams do fome true as i know, I'm living the dream right here❤️🏄😁👍 One love!

I was lucky enough to attend that show, last ever at The Spectrum. Truly incredible performance!!

There is no doubt that this beautiful song is done as a tribute to the bigger-than-life Andy Wood. Eddie has always acknowledged and praised highly Wood & MLB. And yes, they waited a full decade to even perform this. Any notion of them cashing in per se is beyond ridiculous. Also, Wood had a Hell of a sense of humor. He would have loved this version, and would probably goofed to Eddie something like "dude, stop being so serious".

I was at this show and it was mind blowing. Still is. They are keeping Mother Love Bone "alive" in a beautiful way. "I was talking to my alter", is a deep lyric. Love this song.

I dont understand why people get mad at this. Eddie Vedder has said it is an honor. Im sure Andrew would be delighted too, its such a great cover and his old band is keeping him alive in a respectable way. i believe it took them a long time (10 yrs) to cover this for the first time. I recently saw a Pearl jam tribute band cover this song; that was disgusting.. Pearl Jam has every right..

I love it when they play Crown of Thorns live cause that's what Andy always anted, to have his music sung in front of tens of thousands of people. Great tribute especially because they never play the first part Chloe Dancer, that song belongs to Andy. I was at the show in Vegas for their tenth anniversary and Eddie asked Stone and Jeff before the show if they could play it as a tribute to Andy and they have played it a few times since

I imagine this is a hard one to confront, yet, a seminal part of Stone & Jeff's past with the man who wrote this, the iconic Andrew Wood, the mystery of what could had been, if only.....if only. Eddie does a respectful & heartfelt version. He, too, is a rare talent. I think he's the perfect individual to sing it, due to the fact that he stepped into Andrew's former role, more or less. Rest easy, dear Andrew, your close friends Chris & Layne are there now, along with the lovely Demri by Layne's side, even Kurt likely stops by from time to time, Mike Starr & hopefully Scott Weiland too.

I would assume it is hard to compare the artists and bands of the 90s because they all rocked hard and also have a distinction between each which gives them their style, and rip to all of the legends that passed away in that decade, live long and prosper to the groups and artists who are still jamming. ROCK THE 90s! ...and 80s 70s 60s 50s and 40s.

It is not like they used this song to get famous, They already were the ten years after they started playing it, Since people think that only Andy Wood should sing it then i guess when folks are at home learning how to play guitar dont play other bands music because that is just wrong. So make up your own shit . honestly this is a great song and shouldnt be shelved , they have every right to play it oh and Woods voice was good but Eddie is a legend period. I dont even see the fucking argument

it's a matter of taste, im a singer myself , and everything eddie does is so simple and easy for me, but if i have to cover AIC or Mother love bone then the job get's complicated you know what i mean, i'm not saying that he sings awfull, i'm saying that he is not Layne Staley or Andy Wood or Phil Anselmo or Robert Plant

Being harder to perform doesn't make it better. There is a difference between art and athletics.

Notice Eddie doesn't sing "Chloe Dancer"... to touching, too sensitive... to close to home... he doesn't sing the "Chloe Dancer" section until 2011... both very significant years in his life... (09, and 2011)...
@edhombre12 жыл бұрын
Although Eddie does a good job of singing this song I just can't help but to thing they should have sang a different Mother love bone song like stardog champion instead of this one. For some reason I just see this song as one that only Andrew should sing. Yes I know that sounds dumb so go ahead and make your comments if you want.

you know what, i agree with you cause there's no way in hell pearl jam would have done stardog champion or crown of thorns with any other singer but Robert Plant of led zep. eddie is not that good, Layne staley and Andy wood were in the higher level along with Robert plant and Ozzy osbourne. the elite .
@keithmoore99693 жыл бұрын
Good thing he doesn't say uh.... Like every third word when he singsborvthere would have never been a pearl jam.... Uhhhhhj....😂.
@benmurden52182 жыл бұрын
I adore Crown of Thorns, but the frigging guitar that opens the song here is out of tune. I love the main 2 chords that drive this classic song, but when the guitar kicks in at the start it’s a proper cringe moment. Eddie Vedder doesn’t sing the song that especially Andrew Wood-like well either.
