I grew up and went to school with Donna Grantis near Toronto. We were in a small jazz group together around 96-98. Even then she was clearly going places. She was an unbelievable guitarist, and totally dedicated to being the best. The guitar is an extension of her soul. I wish I could have been there to hear this live. Kepp rockin' Donna!

this is the reason she went on to doing great things the world of music..when you are dedicated to your instrument,or just your craft in general you will go places if you want to..the world is bigger than where we are as people. If someone is open to exploring they usually do..So when Prince saw her ,he probably felt the same..that was a great thing for to share in his experience.

I had an inkling when Ed mentioned Minnesota but wasn't sure. Then she came out and I was pretty sure she was the "second" guitarist in Prince's most recent backing band, having recognized her (mostly from her hair) from SNL. She's the guitarist in the all-female 3RDEYEGIRL.
