Wow. Was expecting an unsatisfying cover of one of the classic great rock songs (Love Reign O'er Me) but was I wrong. Eddie Vedder absolutely killed it with all the big time passion and emotion this song demands. Fantastic job by Pearl Jam on both songs here!

No shit bro... best WHO cover EVER! If onlyJeff Ament knew how to push that amp into overdrive and play with reckless abandonment like the OX did and Matt Cameron would quit being so perfect and tight and just go at it like Moon did, it would be perfect... other than that... perfection! Also, gonna catch flack for this but as a lifelong WHO fan, I gotta say Eddie Vedder may have sung that every bit as good as Roger Daltrey did at least since 1978! Damn Pearl Jam, just when i started to hate you, you pull this off!

They would play this hard even if they were playing in a basement. That's what makes Pearl Jam fucking awesome.

Amazing version. If The Who's version was a 100, I'd give this a 97. Its just as well that the bassist trashed his bass. It was totally worn out anyway.

I respect Pearl Jam for covering this great song from The Who, "Love Reign O'er Me". But I find this live performance kind of sluggish and out of sync--that is, the instrumental and vocal sections aren't quite together and seem to be struggling to merge but don't often succeed. The tempo being slowed down is part of the problem, but they just don't have a strong grasp of the dynamics in The Who's original. So the song feels like it's bogged down and out of sorts, not quite holding all the elements together. "The Real Me" is more successful but doesn't offer much of a creative take on the original, blunting the power of the song with a rather bland cover version, but at least it has the band working more as a strong unit.
