Eddie was interviewed in Amsterdam, and stated, he wrote 'Yellow Ledbetter' when he was plastered. So he said the words change with each performance, since he dosen't actually remember the original lyrics. It all depends upon his mood. So according to Eddie, there's no actual "lyrics" to the song, either right or wrong. It's improvised for each performance. I've seen PJ in concert 14 times and each time, the lyrics are switched up. But, regardless of what comes out of Eddie's mouth, the song is absolutely amazing.

I'm orginally from WA (Western Australia). I was forunate enough to see PJ when they toured across OZ, on they're Oceanic Tour. I saw them in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. I've also seen them at several shows in Europe. Eddie is actually going to be touring Australia, performing solo, starting on February 7th, in Perth, already got my tickets :) for the Riverside Theatre.

I will always love Mike McCready for what he did for Layne Staley, encouraging him to sing, writing the music for Mad Season and bringing the music to Layne and telling him he had complete artistic freedom, write anything you want. And its not boxer. Its box or a bag..
@164RW3 жыл бұрын
@@robertwoodward9231 Boxer or the bag makes sence too though in the context of what is the song is supposed to be about. If you get bad news you might want to punch something or it lands so hard in wich case you're the bag.
@robertwoodward92313 жыл бұрын
@@164RW yes I see your point. Maybe its me but on the original he seems to carry the word or a second longer. Also I've read that he explained the lyrics on stage, in which he uses box. I can completely understand your perspective though. It doesn't matter to me as the exquisite song is all that really matters.

I love how the crowd joins in and gets so excited for this song....wish concerts were still like this today. I was born in the wrong era

Can you see them? Out on the porch, but they don't wave. The crowd really experienced something special here. Life goal and hopefully these fine people don't ever stop.

@@Faks.09 Ah, I didn't know about that. I first heard the song in the 90's. I see "Lost Dogs" was released in 2003. Cheers for the reply. Listening to the album now thanks to you and loving it (new discovery).
