Behringer were going to make a reproduction but don't hold your breath lol. There's a few diy clones available too!

@@drstupid1 yea I'm going to look into them, alot of them are really pricey. I found one for 300 but it was made for eurorack so idk how that'd go.

sick vid. what are the 'auditory characteristics' that will trigger it then- would an arpegiatted rimshot trigger it on every hit for example? thanks man :)

Brendan Ryan thanx mate :) you basically want to get the sound you send it to be as close to a rim shot as possible :) fast attack and no decay... and loud! Most of the Nova's sounds don't have enough oomph to trigger it properly so it'll sound much better and louder using proper drum sounds but i was just experimenting with random ideas here :) the guy who owns this syncussion has an 808 and that makes a huge difference to the end result but i was going for a more chilled out vibe i spose :)

The Nova can synthesise an 808 rim sound with little trouble, in fact in my nova 2 there are 808 drum presets and its got the umph to trigger stuff with the right settings, cheers.
