Common misconception that we should put to rest: "You can shear the vines, they added that years ago" Answer: No, you cannot shear the base vines. You can shear glowberries and the nether variations. Mojang never added the ability to shear a normal vine. Unfortunately, you cant have invis item frames without placing something in them, so they dont quite work either. Rocking with signs or buttons for now! 😁

Gonna have to keep restocking though. Pearl's high score nets her 17.5 stacks of froglights in frog tokens. Given how many other attempts she must have done to get that score, she likely has several shulker boxes worth of lights in tokens right now, for a significantly lower diamond cost that they would normally go for.

Definitely agree that changing OG vines to allow for shearing to stop growth would be really nice. The difference is in the click function, too; r-click for stopping the growth, l-click for harvest. It's not a huge difference, and the room to slot it in is already there since you only harvest any type of plants by using the tool with the attack (l-click) button. (Sheep needing right click for wool collecting is an exception, not a rule!)

the vine growth thing reminds me of a feature from the mod quark - if you right-click a vine with a flint and steel it burns the ends to make it stop growing, giving it a unique texture that looks like the vines have shrunk back and upward a bit. you can still shift right-click them to ignite them normally if you want to. i think that'd be nice to see added to vanilla
