In the fifth episode of Hermitcraft season 9, we solve some dangerous problems and make our first shop on the server! It's time to make some 'shearious' decisions.

​@@Bunderboats in a survival world having a max enchanted version of everything that can be enchanted is always a personal goal i do just out of habit. It's a bit disappointing such a thing doesn't exist IMO. Like the final "late" game achievement being "make a netherite hoe" is a bit lame - like i'm not eventually going to have separate efficiency 5 unbreaking 3 mending netherite hoes for fortune 3 & silk touch - like i do every other tool that allows for that, no matter how pointless... it seems like there really should be an achievement or perhaps a few for these sorts of things. It's completely in line with existing game design - which already has a ton of completion achievements - all biomes in both overworld and nether, all potion effects at once, eat all foods, breed all animals, collect all cat variants, hell i'm probably forgetting some....

Idea for the tractor beam: Tractor beams them selves tend to be light sources in most fiction, which you might be able to replicate with glow lichen. This would need to be tested if the lichen blends in well enough

Love your solution to the alien beam problem, it allows both your and False's build to shine and I agree that now that the onyx deer is lit up it has a nice effect to it at night (looking even a bit more alien that way 👽) Also, last we saw, I believe Donk was at the Grian/Scar/Tango villager hall 🙂 Your new shop is perfection! The puns 👌 👌. I'd say the price for the shears is a bit high as hermits don't tend to use shears that much or just don't mind crafting new ones when necessary (I could be wrong though) but the puns more than make up for that. As some other comments said, these are collector's items, you don't buy them for the use and we know the hermits love puns, so with that in mind the price is perfect! That Nugget cameo at the end was adorable! I live for hermit cats wanting to be part of the video!

Back in the day my favorite tool to make would be a pair of shears with silk touch on them - these would be crucial if you ever worked with glass, since (back then) silk touch shears didn't lose durability when used on glass (this was before Mending). I'd rename them "Sisig's Silky Shears" and they'd be in my inventory at all times. Good memories 😊

You could perhaps change the way the shop works slightly; you could make it so when a pair of shears are purchased, all of the shears are connected to a dropper and the hermits can press a button and get a random pair of shears with a unique pun; you could advertise it as some type of alien science or alien prophecy (or even an alien creature?) where the pair of shears that you are destined for chooses you… *mystical woooo*

That shop was SO hilarious! 😂😂❤️ I absolutely love it! 😍 And SO inspiring for my next shop on my server! I've been doing my own take on a penny store we have in Denmark called Sisters Grene (Søstrene Grene) with 45 different products incl. custom shields made with banners. And the products vary and have sales and sale of the month. In front there's a clutter sale barrel with armour stand placed swords coming out of it, with different items, all 1 diamond per slot. That's a big seller! It's kinda like Grian's Barge from season 6, but with an entry and and exit making you snake through the store all filled with nice details, nice lamps and a very English tea type of cozy feeling; wood and strips of grey and red types terracotta, and small statues of Hermits (unfortunately you're not yet in the Hermit Heads datapack, but I'll download your skin and kill myself for the head and implement you and Gem. 🥰)

The shear shop is great! For the UFO, i think it would look cool if the beam itself was more lit up, especially up top. There's probably no good way to do this though, except maybe glow lichen? May be worth trying.
