Probably one of the best speeches ever in the Dáil. Pearse is a future leader of Sinn Féin surely.

Pearse Doherty is the best politican in the Dáil. The only one who knows what the people want and when he becomes Taoiseach We will have a just republic.

This man is the future of this country...no longer can people hold the past of Sinn Fein against them as they are the only ones that have an idea of what the future should be about..FACT

Pearse's closing remarks about the homeless people really moved and angered me, how can politicians like Kenny and Gilmore sit there with their pensions and sallaries worth thousands of euros and tell the ordinary people to pay more taxes and stretch their incomes even more. Have they no shame?

There was a time I hated Sinn Féin but it's the likes of this man that make me want them in power and to sort out the rest of those greedy so and so's!

@chriscolferrocks I wish that were true. But unfortunately I don't think any of us can really understand the massive economic and political pressure our country is under at this moment in time.

A Good opposition is just as important as a good Government, and I think they fulfil that role well. However, I don't really think, even given Sinn Fein's outspokenness, that them being elected would change loads. I mean, any party that gets into power becomes part of the political machine, and unfortunately given the fact we are in chains to Europe, it's really hard to reverse it.
@chriscolferrocks13 жыл бұрын
@JaayyB Well yes that is true but Sinn Féin have a solid economic policy that has been backed up by ecconomists it will not hit the poorest it will protect them and target those that can pay that bit more so Sinn Féin wouldn't have to make the choices made by FF/FG/Labour.

Enda Kenny rubbing his hands ad ignoring Pearse, he's acting a bit ignorant. I loved Pearse's stunt that Enda does, half way through his speach switching to Irish then back to English :D

@Coltaculuss The answer would have been it wasn't 'Our deficit' to begin with but money we now paying in a mad 'Three Card trick'. Those funds washing up into Anglo, A.I.B.balance sheet were used to fuel the bubble as European Corporate Carpetbaggers looked for a home for same. when the tide truly went out those same Bankers / Bondholders were payed off with an I.M.F. E.C.B.Loan wraped around the necks of the Irish people that's just 'Socialism for the Rich'
