My first tube amp was a TSL 602. It was very frustrating and difficult for a beginner to set with my Boss GT1000. Your vids encouraged me to stick with it until i figured out how to unlock its voice. I recently bought a 100W. It came with a 2x12 avatar cab loaded with UK made G12 80W speakers. For $900 USD i feel like it was a steal of a deal. Thanks for showing me what these amps can do.

I've always loved the TSL100 and thought they were very underrated. From my own experiences of gigging and recording I've found them so easy to work with. When I have used other peoples JCM800s I have felt them harder to work with, almost like I'm fighting the amp when I play. Maybe people didn't know how to use them properly, or people on the forums (Where I have seen most reviews for TSL100s) had a hatred for Marshalls at the time? I don't know! Or maybe it is a secret conspiracy to devalue them so you can have a great, cheap amp that everyone thinks is worthless. I'm glad someone is giving them the appreciation they deserve, although I do worry you may end up increasing the value of them now you have shown how good they can be. Great demo!

Hi Euge, you are the fucking machine man, if I ever made a video comparing two hi gain amps as good and emblematic as these, it would be exactly the same as this one you have made, with the same ingredients, way and style of playing, equalization and volumes, organization and bookmarks, way of explaining yourself and giving your personal opinions (very to take into account because it shows for leagues that you live and know what you say). For me, this is simply the perfect video man and number 1 over the many others (thousands) that I may have seen on youtube. And also you look very connected with the soul of Jonh Sykes ...... I never understood the hate on the TSL either. I’ll probably get insulted for this, but when it first came out, many critics were saying it was the best Marshall ever made. Are you using the boss chorus when you're playing with the backing track
@EugeValovirta230V2 жыл бұрын
Can’t remember but the gear I used is on the screen. Most likely I didn’t use that.

Yeah I picked up a boss OD1 after watching one your reviews I'm to my dual super lead I like it I also use 808 tube screamer and I use Isp. decimator and the same course pedal just purchased a Marshall JCM 2000 Tsl 60 watt I also have a PV 6505 we basically use the same rigs but I always come back to my Marshalls. But I love both heads Marshall just has that crunchy fizz it stands out more. I use Gibson les Paul guitars. When you do your reviews on your Marshall amps if you could get a better close-up shot because of the controls are hard to see because of a light that would be great I really like your tone settings I pretty much run mine at the same lot of people they don't know how to use Marshalls it's all about the dials 👌. I really appreciate your videos I know it's a lot of work.

So you don't use your boss chorus when you're playing rhythm and lead

I use if I feel like using one and if I don’t I don’t use 👌.

@@EugeValovirta230V Nice, do you still have it? I have been wanting one forever.
@EugeValovirta230V2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do and it’s being used weekly. I have a Finnish metal band recording an album in my studio and we’ve been using that a lot on leads 👌🤟. Boosted with BOSS SD-1 naturally 😎.

killer riff and soloing no matter what amp your using but for the money a used tsl would do just fine.

Great comparison. How do you like Engl amps?
@EugeValovirta230V4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’ve used Fireball 60 along with EVH 5150 III on both Cyhra’s albums for rhythm guitars and it works really well. Other than the Fireball I haven’t used them much so can’t really say 😎.

@@EugeValovirta230V Thanks for reply Euge. I know that some people say that Engl has very stiff feeling (tight). It is great for rhythm but not everyone likes it for solos. Don't know if it is really true.

I guess it’s a matter of personal preferences so can’t really generalize that.
