@@erock5010 I have big fear of those muscle tears and that's why I do longer warmups before squat, deadlift and bench. Also i don't go under 5 reps in any exercise. Just don't feel depressed, muscles will be back as they were after you recover and you will hit PR's ! 👊

Nick, thanks for posting, great band ideas. Curious what the nature of the pec tear was. very different prognosis for muscle, muscle-tendon, or tendon-bone tears. I recently had a muscle-tendon tear and am pursuing the non-operative approach to see how it goes. Was this what you had...did you end up getting surgery latter or feel good about where you ended up? Thanks!

My recovery was fast by all standards. But I devoted a tremendous amount of time to it. With thousands of circles and light (2.5 lbs) weight/band work. After 10 months I was benching 225lbs but now over a year latter my progress has plateaued. With less tissue and connectivity I'm no sure its possible to really build more strength in that area. You might end up without the ceiling that I hit. Good luck to you. @@Audibmwjb

When you tear your pec will it be discoloration in your inner chest and arm area like most ple say because the blood will rush from the torn muscle? I ask because i think i tore mine or pulled/strained it but not sure because its been 2 weeks not really swollen just tender no discoloration no sign of blood just pain when i put pressure on it.

But OHP , delts , and even back .... During a pec tear ? Are you serious rn? Either you’ve never had a tear, you have no idea what you’re talking about, or both. Man you are delusional! From the previous video it seems likely that your sternocostal head is completely torn and clavicular head seems to be the only one still attached to the humerus. It's not a full tendon rapture but even as it is there is no way to get back at even half your strength without surgical repair (if it's even operable in your case it's impossible to say without MRI)... It's quite possible that in the future you might not even be able to get to half your strength after years of training... To self diagnose such an injury without getting MRI is really dumb.
@NickWright
@NickWright 3 жыл бұрын
If your prediction is true, then so be it. I'm not throwing away $25K (or more) just to get another bench PR.... I'll be 30 this summer. I've benched 2.2X bodyweight, squatted 3X and done a TON with my lifting career. If it's time to move on from moving insane weights, I'm okay with that. As long as I am fully functional and pain-free (which I already am), I'm happy. That said, let's just take this one day at a time before we assume doomsday. I assume you're not a doctor? And if you are, you're not mine and haven't examined me, so giving me medical advice is equally dumb.
@vectorspace7714
@vectorspace7714 3 жыл бұрын
@@NickWright It's your choice. Since you're a powerlifter I assumed that you cared about returning to your previous strength as much as possible (to be fair most people that are into lifting would be very upset about the possibility significant strength loss and a cosmetic deformity) but it looks like I'm wrong. As long as you don't care about potential major strength deficit and a permanent cosmetic defect then you will probably be fine. If you're really really lucky you might get a decent amount of your strength and function back (it depends on how bad the injury was which is something that nobody knows at the moment since you never got it properly diagnosed) but I wouldn't bet on it. Good luck.
