I still do not understand how the arched back bench press stuff isn't effing horrible for your body and isn't a different exercise when doing that? Would a declined bench do the same? It looks like more of a dip but using weights and not just your body and basically do it upside down... Obviously not that extreme but looks like that is where it would eventually end up if people "refine" the arched thing more.

Only did that on the 430 which is why I said it didn't count in the full video. Butt stayed planted for the rest.

It got better. What I mean by that is a traditional gym goer would never arch their back like that but he decided to professionally compete. And in competitions that arch gives you an advantage so you have to practice benching that way.

@andyfernandez6237 it's unfortunate that comp standards are so low to allow such a ridiculous technique to pass. But hopefully, this guy benefits from the training and does well

I wonder if any of them have done rotator cuff exercises with resistance bands. I have bad rotator cuffs on both sides and i started to do 3 different exercises with a resistance band and my shoulder became more stable and obviously my rotator cuff issues went away. But my bench went up a good 15-20 pounds. I got off track so i never got to continue to get my rotator cuff muscles stronger. By my bench was way more stable and the weight didn't seem to move because my rotator cuffs were stronger.

I experimented with pause reps and i decided i do not like them for casual benching like i do. If i was a powerlifter then maybe. but i just want a big bench so i focus on keeping good form and progressive overloading. I believe weakness starts when your form breaks down and you are bouncing the weight off your chest and taking the chest strength requirement out of the equation.
@rstriker214 күн бұрын
I feel like I progress faster with momentum, I’m not bouncing or anything but if I break my exercise down too much then it stops being fun and I become less consistent which is the more important
