Beautiful video, grazie! I can feel the heat through the video. It is hot over here in New England, USA. Keep cool!

Thank you. We are lucky. Our area in Bagni di Lucca is cooler than Peccioli as we have more shade.

Grazie for braving the heat and providing your followers a visual feast during these very hot days of summer. The sites you presented brought forth a cornucopia of visual and mental images. We kept searching for Mona Lisa’s eyes on the building with the eyes, walking along the bridge brought forth memories of the 1966 science fiction TV show, The Time Tunnel, and the rainbow of colors on the bridge and (Luis Barragán inspired?) houses (doors were magnificent) reminded me of a rainbow that is created at the end of a refreshing rain shower. And as always, thank you for including 4-legged Italians in your videos.

Thank you. Wandering in Peccioli and Ghizzano was the most enjoyable experience despite the heat. All those eyes on the walls had a kind of multiple mesmerising effect on the viewer. Walking in the tunnel was also quite interesting. I played the long uncut footage at faster speed and it produced an effect like Kubrick's 2001 S.O. The houses in Via del Mezzo in Ghizzano are a work by David Tremlett, an English artist. You're right, one immediately make an association of his work to Barragán's.

Un video stupendo. Che bel paese e` Peccioli. Il tempo sembra perfetto da qui con il cielo sereno ma senza mi sento il caldo. I grilli nel sottofondo lo danno l'atmosfero d'estate. Tante grazie

Beautiful town, the multi coloured bridge looks so futuristic, for an old town, yet it looks amazing with the wonderful architecture and surrounding countryside. Thanks for sharing, hopefully you have air-con, for your drive home. Ciao, John, uk

Thank you. It's amazing how well the contemporary art fits into the village. Incidentally the beautiful via di mezzo in Ghizzano is a work by David Tremlett a Cornish artist.

Thank you. It's worth a trip. Because of the heat, we only showed some of the interesting things. There is more to see. Maybe next time.

Grazie for all of your wonderful videos and commentary. You are helping me so much in planning my upcoming visit to Italy. We will be staying in Lucca for several nights and simply can't wait! Peccioli seems like it would make a wonderful day trip from Lucca. When you go on the travel websites (Fodors, Rick Steves) you see many typical day trip recommendations such as Volterra and San San Gimignano. Thanks to you I am thinking that instead we might want to check out Peccioli! Would you advise that a weekend visit might be better than a weekday. Would it be a mistake to go on a Sunday. We visited Pietrasanta which seems somewhat similar and were advised to go on a weekend for a better experience. Thanks again! -- Rose

Peccioli was a bit off the beaten track until they won an award "Borgo dei Borghi 2024" as Italian Village of the year. We went in July last year on a Tuesday, market day. There were not very many visitors. It was hot and we had a rest and a drink in the little bar in Ghizzano, the coloured hamlet. I know that there are many events in the summer including open air concerts, where Andrea Bocelli, who is from nearby Lajatico might sing, but at the moment there is not yet a program as far I can understand. There are more sculptures to discover, we didn't see all of them and one needs a car to explore the area.

@@PiazzaTalkLucca Thanks, we will have a car so I think we will make a visit. Will be going the last weekend of May so I'm assuming it won't be nearly as hot. Although the unpredictability of the weather these days makes for some surprises! Last year we visited Sicily, also in May, and it was quite chilly and extremely wet.

May has been chilly in Tuscany this year. April was gorgeous and then we went back to winter. The juxtaposition of modern art and medieval architecture is very effective.

Looks an interesting place to visit. I've put it on our list, we're here for the summer so it would be good to go. What day is the market?
