My carmobile is stolen quite easily, heres my take on the PEDAL JACK anti theft device.

I have the Pedal Jack and a hidden kill/anti-start switch, in addition to the factory anti-theft features. My truck could probably still be stolen, but they would really have to work at it.

why not design it to lock both gas & brake pedal, they are right next to each other. The lock will be little heavier but it also added more security.

Yeah, I just see the review of safetpedal you've mentioned and that was exactly what I meant :-) And I also don't understand why safetpedal was made only for landrover. I can see their design could easily be convert for universal. Well, maybe it is waiting for us to cash in -)

Won't work since most are cable driven. They simply pull on the cable.

David I don't understand. What pull the cable? I thought the metal bars designs just to lock the pedal in its place so the pedal won't move when thief try to press it down. The locking bar got nothing to do with any cable in the car.

First of all cars can go 3-5mph without pressing the gas. Crooks drive to a hidden location where they rig the car. In a rural areas, you can travel as far as you want with your flasher on and stay to right. They don't make this product (that block gas pedal) anymore since someone had enlightened them....continue

I have the club now. Yes they can saw through the steering wheel very easily but then they have take the car to a chop shop with fucked up steering wheel and if they get pulled over by the police they might have some explaining to do. The Club only encourages them to find an easier target. I do want to get a Pedal Jack.

naw put both steering club and pedal lock just in case a theif breaks you car to try and get in but didnt notice it had a pedal lock you still have your car but a broke ass door just get both for diffrent deterents and maxiumum efficency

It is for automatics, but you can use it for manual transmissions too. I'd put it on the clutch or brake, whatever works best c8. In FACT I believe the same company makes a product called a clutch claw which locks both pedals :O!.

there are car models that have park release buttons beside the lever... like the Toyotas... so you could still put it in gear even if the brakes are locked... but... it would deter the would be thief seeing the brakes won't work while driving.

most newer cars require the brake pedal to be pressed down before the shifter can be taken out of park. The autolock when properly installed will usually prevent that so it could help keep the car from getting moved. If I had a car with a clutch I would put one on the clutch pedal arm as well as one on the brake pedal. A hidden on/off switch under the dashboard for the taillights is the best theft recovery idea. Thief has no idea he has no tailights cruising around at midnight. Police get him!

I used to use the original Club on the steering wheel of my 79 Corolla. Never had it stolen, but I doubt anyone tried to. They could have just cut the rim of the steering wheel, and I even drove the car a good ways on the freeway (including a fairly tight bend), after I mistakenly left my backpack with keys inside when I hitched about 10 miles back to my car when I and some friends cut our backpacking trip short. What worries me about the Pedal Jack is the parking break CAN actually be used to brake with if you drive slow and avoid hills.

I got one of these back in the days for a 2001 Camry and the lock was going out. I had difficulty unlocking the thing with the key and had to play with it for awhile just to get it to work. I eventually stopped using it.

@@tsdr6830 I got one some time ago, shortly after posting the above comment. I have had zero issues unlocking it or putting it on. At most it sometimes takes a few good tugs to get it secure enough when putting it on. I haven't had ANY theft attempts, and I bought it because my older vehicle was stolen, though recovered thanks to local police parking enforcement vehicles that auto scan and call in license plates of cars reported stolen. It works, and takes up little space.

In my country, thieves tend to like to give the Los Santos treatment to old Ford vehicles, such as the Cortina, Escort and Capri. That's how my mum's old car (a Ford Escort XR3i) went missing many years ago.

Yup the gas pedal lock makes a butt load more sense that the brake pedal since e-brakes can still brake the car

As mentioned in the video, you can use the e-brake but there exists the risk of rolling the car, not stopping in time, and much more. I can assure you from experience that it requires quite the force to bring a car to a stop using only the e-brake. Not to mention the differences in materials between the two.

In addition, some vehicles cannot be shifted without having the brake being pressed. However, some vehicles can also be taken out of park in the ACC position, and started in N. With the clutch safety switch, some vehicles you can just push the button, or bypass it, this was the case on my 86 corolla. After that fiasco, you're still destined to have difficulty stopping, Ive done so with this thing on, and damn near hit my brothers car.

Run the wire to cabin and HIDE IT WELL. Don't put it inline to the fuel line (or similar) because I did and it's was bad news. Next, hide your hood release cable. Also, make sure they don't have access to the starter solenoid wire from under the car. For the newbie, just buy an alarm that clips (2 clip only) on the battery and or a 4 jaw steering club or full steering wheel cover lock...and turn your steering wheel until it click (or lock) before leaving. continue two comments up...

Well, as mentioned in the video, it would require quite the use of force to come to a stop using the ebrake. The issue with the ebrake is there is the risk of rolling the car if you lock the rear wheels while in motion, and hitting someone from not stopping in time. The gas pedal could work too though :)

Currently doing some research and reading reviews on this product and some other anti-theft deterrents. Read an Amazon verified purchaser's review on claim that it only took 5-10 seconds to bust this open, it makes me question this. Not saying this is an awful product, but there is a flaw to consider especially if it only takes that long to bust it open.

Why would you put it on the brake? Why wouldn't you put one on the gas instead, if the brake is locked then they can still drive away if they can't stop then they can total your car. Instead of just letting them driving away and totaling your car you could prevent the car from moving at all.

$160 wheel lock covers entire steering wheel with steel disc the cheaper club only has a small hook each end which the wheel cut and removed . Buy the expensive cover and dual pedal locks and it makes the car take a long time to steal and a thief has no idea what else the car has along side those visual theft deterant devices making it a less attractive target .

It looks basically the same design as the AutoLock. I have the Club Brake lock and I would not recommend it as it doesn't provide as secure a grip around the brake pedal shaft. This looks better. It's a hassle having to match up the notch on the key. AutoLock brand uses a better key and lock for theirs, easier to line up the key. AutoLock also gives you a steering wheel cover to warn the thief that the brake is locked. I think it's about the bes out there but this one looks pretty good, too. Just depends on the price.

Alot of cars require the brake to be pressed to start if its an auto. Not to mention most wont shift unless the brakes are applied. IDK about an old honda like this but most of the newer cars I have ever been in are like that.

so the thief rents a car lift and avoids messing with stealing the car the regular way. : ) then takes the car to another location cuts the pedal jack off then makes some new keys for it ,rebrands it and sells it .
