I forgot how awesome (and occasionally creepy) this show was. It did two things that kid's shows rarely do these days: It understood that adults were watching too and tried to make it as enjoyable for them instead of an infantile slog, and much more importantly, _it didn't treat kids like they were idiots._ Pretty much every children's program eventually tells the viewers that it's okay to be different and that it isn't a bad thing, it's just different. _Pee-wee's Playhouse_ never had to say it, because it spent every episode SHOWING it instead.
@russs7574 Жыл бұрын
Most important, it didn't get preachy, and didn't take a knee to diversity and social justice.

I bought this on DVD so my kids could watch it. They love it! I love the mixed media stuff and the stop motion animation and puppetry, I especially love the Penny cartoons and I love the King of Cartoons and the classic animation they show through him. Though we might not see new content as good as Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the one good thing kids have today is the ability to pull up shows and content like this endlessly on demand, without commercials. I would've killed for that as a kid, and pocketable? I think kids today have it much better than we ever did in most ways.
