I forgot how awesome (and occasionally creepy) this show was. It did two things that kid's shows rarely do these days: It understood that adults were watching too and tried to make it as enjoyable for them instead of an infantile slog, and much more importantly, _it didn't treat kids like they were idiots._ Pretty much every children's program eventually tells the viewers that it's okay to be different and that it isn't a bad thing, it's just different. _Pee-wee's Playhouse_ never had to say it, because it spent every episode SHOWING it instead.

I bought this on DVD so my kids could watch it. They love it! I love the mixed media stuff and the stop motion animation and puppetry, I especially love the Penny cartoons and I love the King of Cartoons and the classic animation they show through him. I think this was such a creative and enjoyable show. But it should be watched in the morning, it’s too stimulating to watch when they’re tired 😂

Though we might not see new content as good as Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the one good thing kids have today is the ability to pull up shows and content like this endlessly on demand, without commercials. I would wish that people can now leave the man alone, now that he's gone,.... but considering some people are STILL trying to find ways to tear down Mr. Rogers 20 years after HIS passing,... My father would tell me that when he was younger he would watch peewee's play house. So I followed his tradition and began watching peewees playhouse every morning with a bowl of cereal, I was 12 years old at the time.
