Cyndi Lauper sings Pee Wee's Playhouse Theme Song -- Channel Jamesss Today

Cyndi Lauper, admitted in her autobiography that she is the voice behind the theme song for Pee Wee's Playhouse, imitating Betty Boop.
Lauper explained the situation in Cyndi Lauper: A Memoir: "[Pee-wee] wanted me to sing the theme song. I told him I would, but I couldn't have it under my name, because I was going to put out True Colors, which had a serious tone. In our superficial world, people couldn't accept both at the same time. So I sang the theme song using the pseudonym 'Ellen Shaw.' And then Paul sent me back a tape that was so hilariously funny, of me singing the theme with him in between saying, 'Oh no! My career is ruined, oh no!' He's a nut. I love him."
Cyndi didn’t want people to know she sang the theme, because she was afraid it might hurt her album sales, so she was credited as “Ellen Shaw”.

I was in 1984 I never knew it was cyndi I heard a lot of her my mom LPs from true colors album mid 80s everyone else my age bearly remember 80s I remember things just few months just a first car Cadillac Deville 1978 two door for example today describe it as time wizard but I feel like I not the only one it's rare to meet another time wizard

I thought it was her for all these years...but the credits say "Ellen Shaw", so I thought, wow, Ellen Shaw sure sounds like Cyndi Lauper. Just looked it up after seeing this video and yes, it was Cyndi. She thought using her real name would hurt her record deals, so she used Ellen Shaw. Thank you for validating what I already knew, but was confused about for years and years. :)
