I haven't played Pikmin 1+ 2 on the Switch yet because I'm gonna hold out for the physical version, but the My Nintendo page for the bundle says both games support optional motion controls, so I'm assuming that's a yes on the motion controls. Which is nice, because I was hoping for that too. I hope that means Pikmin 4 will also support motion controls.

Seeing this direct i honestly think this might be one of the best nintendo directs. A new 2D mario that isnt a "new" title with a new art style. A stand alone princess peach game. Mario RPG remake that looks beautiful. More footage of sonic superstar which im hyped for. A new none sonic game that looks hype from the sonic mania developers. Lots of footage of pikmin 4

So for Pikmin 1+2 it is mostly just the GC controls. There is a motion control option, and turning that on let’s you kind of fine-tune the cursor, but ONLY when you’re aiming or whistling. It also doesn’t have nearly the range of the Wiimote. The good news is that all the other QOL stuff that the Wii version did with Pikmin 1 (switching colors, less frustrating bomb rocks, etc.) do seem to carry over, and it also seems like they even brought over the faster throwing speed from Pikmin 2 (something the first pikmin has never had to my knowledge).

I just got pikmin 1 and 2 on the switch. I'd assume it's the same for both games but in pikmin 2 you can activate the motion controls by pressing minus to bring up the controls and then toggling it. It does act quite strangely as the pointer only works with the motion controls while doing the whistle or throwing and otherwise it acts like the gamecube version.
