Yes you could graft a new leader. But usually in the times it takes the graft to fuse, we could could grow a new leader that tapered in same amount of time.

could you post an update video to show the trees current condition? I'm interested in the progress it's making and how the grafts look after 2+ years.

hi, can someone tell me how you can fix reverse taper? i bought a ficus tree from the store with two grafted branches like a handle bar, and now the grafts are swelling faster than the trunk forming a bulge... please anyone, if you can help with some info. thanks

+Gabi Trandafir Please email a photo info@wigertsbonsai.com You may need to cut off 1 of the limbs, or try grafting aerial roots to the limbs and trunk....

I think Ficus are best for this.

Can you do the same to a fruit tree (peach) it's in someone's backyard and don't want it anymore, so I'm thinking in cutting it down to 2 or 3,ft and place it on a training pot so in the future be a bonsai

jcmtz0814 Peach trees don't grow here , so I'm not sure if they can be grafted or like growing in containers.
