Two questions, please: 1. Can you graft a different species and have the graft be long enough to plant in the soil for nutrition? I guess it would be a thread graft and a root graft that looks like an aerial root. 2. Can you leave the old foliage on and have 2 different species growing at the same time? I am looking for some variety in one bonsai. Thanks for your help and God bless!

Sorry, question 3: Can you thread graft through a branch as well as the trunk?

Nicely handled. Do you have to have a visual update on this tree with the thread graft. I'm interested in progress and results? Thanks.

Thanks sir for the tutorial. I have many question 1. This technique can be done with every ficus genus combination? Even the white leaf variety combined with normal one? 2. What is the average time taken before cutting the entrance side? I dont know exactly what to make sure it has taken im a newbie. 3. I have a very Large deadwood with small portion is alive, how if i drill it on the alive side as the entrance till the tip of deadwood? since the alive part is too small. Sorry for my long question. Lol

I'm not sure of the Latin name, but the kind of figs used to make preserves out of with the big leaves. Celeste maybe, but I've always heard them referred to as a Turkey fig. Thank you for the response. I'm going to try it and I'll let you know how it works.
