I'm no expert and idk if other comments have been made on this but for the fun of it I think those are the referenced art pieces througout the MV - Rodin's "Thinker" = the girl in the uniform who is painting an autoportrait of her sitting like the Thinker at 0:01 - Julius Ceasar's bust by Marco Ferrucci at 0:06 - "La liberté guidant le peuple "( "Freedom leading the people") by Eugène Delacroix but here represented by the person with the hoodie and the few people wearing animal masks at 0:30 - Rodin's "Thinker" again at 0:32 - "Saturno devorando a un hijo " ("Saturn devoring his son") by Francisco de Goya, at 0:37 when the person with the white bowlcut is eating something bloody = both characters from the Goya painting and the MV have similar haircut and biting movement I would say. - "Ophelia" by Sir John Everett Millais, represented by the lady that is layed down afloat in the water and dressed in black at 0:45 ( I didn't recognized this one on my own but a quick google search helped ) - "Café Terasse at Night" by Vincent Van Gogh at 1:03 followed by a reference to "The Starry Night" by Van Gogh also = this one was a bit tricky cause even if the color palette gave it away i originally thought at first that the cafe scene with the main character as a waiter was a reference to "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper - At 1:23 we have a refenrence to Bansky's self destroyed painting ( at an auction for his painting "Love is in the air" or the one with the "Girl with the red balloon" Bansky self destroyed the painting right as it was sold making it the ultimate art protestation move and thus renaming the piece "Love is in the bin"). Here in the MV I really have no clue what painting replaced the little girl with the red ballon but I can only tell that not representing her here was a delibarate choice because the red baloon girl is actually seen later in the MV ! - Next is "Le baiser" ( "The Kiss") by Gustave Klimt at 1:24 , I think it is, if I'm not mistaking, but if it is its reinterpretated in the MV in a more delibarate nature which is very interesting. The things that made me sure it was Klimt was mostly because of the posture of the two people and the splash of colors with the dominance of yellow and blue tones - at 1:34 This guess is not at all sure and could be something a more specific reference that I didn't get but from what I interpreted its either a reference to "The lost child" by John George Brown or Vincent Van Gogh's "Three hands" or "Hands of the peasants" = its an open guess but I'm getting sad/lost vibes from this scene which made me think of those paintings. - "Love is in the air" by Bansky at 1:36 , with this time the little girl with the red balloon being out of her painting and frame. - We have Claude Monet's " Nymphéas" ("Water Lilies) At 1:41 = Again its a guess but I'm pretty sure it is beacause this is the most famous painting of water lilies in the world, it has the same color palette and in real life the painting is massive so its makes sense that our characters can step inside of it in the MV - At 1:44 wild guess again but the background with the metal or plastics gadgets and trinkets and the tree branch made me think of "La persistance de la mémoire" ( "The persistance of memory") by Salvadore Dalí. And now that I look closely there is a melting clock on the tree branch so my guess is maybe not too farfteched hehe - At 2:02 Cézanne's "Nature morte de pommes et d"un verre de vin" ("still life of apples and a glass of wine") , I'm guessing this is just a broader reference to the movement of still life paintings in general and I think that's it ! if I missed anything or if I'm incorrect feel free to tell me ! In any case this MV is absolute fire and always brings me to tears and keeps me going and helps me be proud of what I create :,))) so thank you so so much for this MV !!
