The reason to listen to more Dimash is not "better" or "worse" than SOS - it is to experience more Dimash. Each song has Dimash singing (which is enough), but it also has it's own special dynamic that makes it special. For example, "Unforgettable Day" has a great melody (how a song that I know not a word of can become an ear worm days after I last heard it, I do not know) - but has the highest note anyone has recorded being sung. "Ave Maria" has an incredible heavenly feel and all without a single word ever being sung. Dimash is a marvel.

For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. As a Dear, I don’t think Sinful Passion is better than SOS but it displays some additional vocal flexes such as that yodel and that last run was 21 seconds on one breath so it displays his breath control. Stranger from New Wave 2021 is a better representation of his range. He sings about 4 octaves in that song from very low to very high. That should be your next listen. It has all the elements of vocals, performance and charisma. Thanks for reacting to him.

There is a video with English subs. His voice is unmatched and can't be compared to anybody as nobody can do what he does with his amazing voice. He trains every single day and ensures his voice is in tip top condition. Mariah used to be able to hit a whistle note but can't do it any more, unfortunately. I could never choose one song over another with Dimash, all are so good and incredible in their own right. Yes he's from Kazakhstan, sings in 14 languages with his incredible 7.2 octave range. I love all the different flavors of Dimash. Each song is unique and extraordinary. I have my favorites and both SOS and Sinful Passion are among my favorites. SOS was my introduction to him so I think I will always have a special place in my soul for it (though I prefer both the Slavic Bazaar and Singer versions of it over the digital show version). Yes, you nailed it, Dimash's voice is bananas! Watching him sing is an experience like no other. Those fortunate enough to see him in concert say they are walking in a trance for days afterwards. When he appeared on The Singer 2017, he was only 22, the youngest singer in the history of the show, and the first foreigner. It was a Chinese singing competition for established Chinese professional singers. Dimash got an invitation to compete. They did not expect him to go past the third round. He finished 2nd but should have been first. A female singer who was very popular and beloved by the sponsors and others won first place. The guy in the white shirt applauding is Igor Krutoy, a billionaire Russian composer, writer, and brilliant pianist, who asked Dimash and his dad if he could write music for Dimash. Dears will give you great recommendations, and all of them will be worth listening to. To add a few (some might already be in the comments): Olympico, Stranger, Daybreak, Story of One Sky, Ave Maria. There all live performancs of all these. I've been listening to Dimash every single day since August 2019, and it's almost impossible to say one of his songs is better than another. But what we do have a 100% guarantee on, is that he puts something completely different on the table with every song, and each performance of a song. By now, we can only expect the unexpected with Dimash. Or, you could maybe react to an entire concert. Stranger Concert, Almaty (and more) is on Dimash's own channel in 3 parts.

I'm gonna say it anyway. SOS is the pinnacle for me. It's like when he starts that song, a curtain is parted revealing the existence of magic in the fabric of the universe. I get non-stop chills listening to SOS, and I can't stop my eyes from tearing. If I'm watching a reactor listen to him for the first yime, I sometimes sob. Is that ridiculous? Sure, but the only way of preventing it from happening is to NOT revisit the song, and that's simply not an option. I haven't made my way through everything he's ever done of course, so who knows what magic I have yet to encounter, but for now SOS is The One, for me.

Apparently, audiences from that area feel it’s rude to applaud and cheer during performances but they shower their favourites, with flowers to show appreciation. The man in the white. The song is actually Sinful Passion but if you equate passion with pain then perhaps sinful pain works better for you. 😁 You could have found the version with the English subtitles if you'd searched for it with English. So I guess you'll get blown away again when you hear Stranger from his New Wave 2021 performance. Not a single note in this song was in his Whistle Register. When he uses his whistle register Mariah Carey can't even compete.

The trill is reminiscent of the muslim call to prayer. I have read that one of the original performers of this song had died tragically and that was Dimash's call to recognise and lament the performers passing.
