This is one of the most beautiful songs and melodies ever written and will continue to stand the test of time, Although it was written well before my time it still remains one of my favourites and was my foster parents favourite too. This beautiful song is sung by the iconic Miss Peggy Lee who brings such style and warmth to this legendary song. Wonderful

It is so difficult to lose a parent, but we all do, except in rare cases, children are supposed to outlive parents but I think it's especially hard for a girl to lose her father, that is such a special relationship, I know I lost my father many years ago, but I still miss him and see him in my memory all the time.

This beautiful, terribly profound song was written before WWII, but it became so poignant with that era! So many young men left their loves to go off to war, and, very sadly, many did not come back to renew that love; many women really suffered for that too. All Wars break someone's heart, no matter if they're world wars or just in some far-off country. Loss from War is terrible but this song helped a lot of people keep hoping! Peggy Lee has been one of my favorite vocalists for a very long time.

I love this beautiful song, which became a theme song for all the boys going off to war during WWII, many to never return and, thankfully, many who did! So many, yet so few that returned, bless all of our soldiers who gave their lives and those who fought and made it back home. They have our honor and respect, as do our military now also. This poignant song has meant so much to so many over the years, and still does!

Found Peggy Lee in 1958 while working for WPTF Radio in Raleigh and for Sixty Years now She continues to rank #1 among all of the many vocalists I've known. Finally in the mid 80's She had a two week engagement in Orlando with Walt Disney World. and on three separate events I was in her audience. It was there that she walked in like an angel and in what appeared to be no effort whatsoever, belted out fourteen of her top hits in a row. On my last visit, accompanying me were six family members all seated there in Disney;s Top of the World Dinner Theater. Unbelievabily, our booth was located on the performance floor, only approximately twelve feet from where she sang. After her concert She politely strolled over, extended her hand for me to kiss and then threw a smooch to my eight year old daughter and patter her on the head, stating "Oh I Love You".. Surely if Miss Lee's not up in Heaven . . . Then I don't wanna go there !

Singer, Songwriter and Actress. Best remembered for songs "Fever," "Lover," "Big Spender," and a host of other songs. Born Norma Dolores Egstrom, her mother died when she was 4, and her father, a railroad station agent, remarried, but later abandoned the new family, leaving Peggy with her stepmother, who physically abused her. Peggy would develop her singing as a means of escape, and at age 14, she began singing at local PTA meetings for 50 cents a night. While singing as a teenager on a local radio station in Fargo, the program director suggested she change her name to Peggy Lee. Her big break came when Benny Goodman hired her to sing with his orchestra after hearing her perform. She quickly shot to stardom with the song, "Why Don't You Do Right?" and she went on to record such songs as "Fever," "Lover", "Golden Earrings" and "Is that all there is?" Much of her singing was with Big Bands, and her 1989 album, "Peggy Sings the Blues" was nominated for a Grammy. A prolific songwriter, she wrote for such great musicians as Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, and Quincy Jones. In 1990, she won the Pied Piper Award, from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Trying her hand at acting in the late 1940s with "Midnight Serenade" (1947), she won an Academy Award nomination for her role as the hard-drinking singer, Rose, in "Pete Kelly's Blues" (1955). She also voiced the vocals for four characters in the Disney film "Lady and the Tramp" (1955), including: Darling, Peg, and the two Siamese Cats, Si and Am, but these were virtually her last movies. Thirty-six years later, she won $2.3 million from Disney over royalties from the Videocassette sales of the movie, as her contract with Disney had barred the sale of movie "transcriptions" without her consent. Her later years were marked with lawsuits and medical ailments. In 1976, she had a near-fatal fall, a second serious fall in 1987, and in early 1985, underwent four angioplasties (surgery in which a balloon is used to open clogged arteries in her heart), and later double-bypass heart surgery. Confined to a wheelchair in the late-1980s, by the 1990s, she was suffering from diabetes and another stroke. She was married four times, each time ending in divorce, and had one child, a daughter, Nicki, with her first husband, guitarist David Barbour. She died in 2002 of a heart attack. She was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1992. She has a rose, "the Peggy Lee," named for her; it is pink with a touch of peach color.

"I'll Be Seeing You" is a popular song about nostalgia, with music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Irving Kahal.[1] Published in 1938, it was inserted into the Broadway musical Right This Way, which closed after fifteen performances.[2] The resemblance between the main tune's first four lines and a passage within the theme of the last movement of Gustav Mahler's Third Symphony (1896) was pointed out by Deryck Cooke in 1970.[3] Billie Holiday's 1944 recording of the song was the final bit of data sent by NASA to the Opportunity rover on Mars when its mission ended on 13 February 2019.[4]
