I'll Be Seeing You
♥ I'll find you in the morning sun and when the night is new...
I'll be looking at the moon...and...
I'll Be Seeing You....

Artist: Newell Oler
(Thanks to the artist for the arrangement and piano rendition.)

video scenery:
Unterschweinstiegschneise, Frankfurt, Germany
Trichterfeldschneise = Funnel-field Path
(This video is a composite of photos and video clips that I took in a park in Germany. All photos and video clips are mine --- taken at different times.)
♥♥♥♥♥
From Wikipedia:
"I'll Be Seeing You" is a popular song from the Broadway musical
"Right This Way".
Its music was written by Sammy Fain, the lyrics by Irving Kahal.
The song was published in 1938.
The first four lines of the tune replicate the theme of the last movement of Gustav Mahler's Third Symphony.
My note:
(Mahler's Symphony No.3 In D Minor: 6. Langsam. Ruhevoll. Empfunden)
my trivia:
The main character of book "Somewhere in Time" was listening to the symphonies of Gustav Mahler when he "travelled" back in time.
The movie version however (Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves) had the music of Rachmaninoff and John Barry in it.
Enjoy!

So profound. In the end, all we have is our memories. This is so poignant. So many times, during our 17 year marriage, I would hear this song, and knew, that one day, one of us, would be feeling such beauty, such pain, such sorrow, remembering this song, and dreaming of the days when we will meet again; this time, over the rainbow, and never be separated again, God willing.

My daughter passed away 20 years ago. She had a fatal heart attack a day after her 35th birthday. I was devastated. For the longest time I couldn’t even speak her name without breaking down. But it was hearing others speak of her that made me smile. One coworker spoke of her giving food to a homeless man, another spoke of her bright personality, another spoke of her caring nature. I realized that I had to remember how she lived and not how she died . That was the catalyst for my healing. This song is reminder that, even though my sweet daughter is gone, who she was will always be here. So my sweet, I’ll be seeing you in all the old familiar places and hearing about you from familiar voices. I’ll continue living life but I’ll be thinking of you and missing you always.

For the last few years, I kept coming back to this song. when I listen and closed my eyes, I can see my family, my dear wife that passed away from heart attack in 2015 and my daughter that missed her mom so much, died 18 months later to be with her mother. I missed them, I really missed you both...... Someday I'll be seeing you

My younger sister just passed away less than a month ago. She and I would speak on a daily basis. Even when we would argue, we would change the topic to cats, Napoleon dynamite quotes, and other nonsense. Each time I hear this song I think of her and my soul aches. No amount of crying or yelling up to the sky will bring her back. However, this song has allowed me to bring her in my heart. This song was written to connect with our loved ones on the other side. Much love goes out to all of you who are heartbroken. May our loved ones Rest In Peace.

I love God, don't know where he/she is sometimes, the suffering we endure, but I know this, there's a loving after-life, there's a soul that leaves the mind/brain and the body, that can still see. When I was ten, I almost drown and for a very brief time, a few minutes, I was above my body watching and hearing kids run about talking of the boy who died. I was resituated, came back but feel I was very close. As an adult I read "Life After Life", by Dr. Moody who investigated hundreds of stories like mine. I had forgot about it for a long time, at ten I didn't know how to explain what I'd seen, my NDE, near death experience. Today because of the communication on KZbin there are numerous such tales from all over the world. My point, if we're comparatively good in this life we'll see our loved ones again, I've read a lot about these experiences, don't believe God is judgmental as Christians are taught, murderers, child molesters, deviates go to Hades... You will see your much-loved sister again in Paradise...

Makes me think of my mom and dad. Both fought in WW2. Married for 62 years, and 7 children. Only death was able to separate them. My mom went first. She always worried about her children even after they grew up and went there way. Her poor heart gave out after 86 tough years. My dad lived two more years and then joined her. The holidays have never been the same again, but no one can take away our memories.

That's right sorry to hear about your loss but at least there in heaven with each other. I know what you are going through it's hard to see them go. But one day we must let them go no sorrow, no more worry, no more pain so sad to hear. I lost my Mom in 2017 I was in shock to hear what happened to her it breaks my heart everyday. I think about her all the time but that's life one day we get to see them again gone but not forgotten Amen. May God bless you and give you strength.

This was both my mother and fathers favorite song from world war II - they met in first grade and papa went off to the war and promised to marry mama when he returned. He returned to her and married her and had 13 of us kids together "because they loved kids so much" They both went to heaven over the past several years, but there isn't a moment that goes by that I don't think about my beloved parents and all that they endured! They loved each other to the end through all the trials and unbelievable road blocks along the way!! I'll be seeing you mom and dad - someday!!! always yours

Darling Patti, we've all connected here, and we'll be in Heaven with your mom and dad and sister, this life is just a portion of what the eternal soul experiences. I know and deeply believe this as I had a brief near death experience and watched thru God's eyes, my lifeless body being resuscitated, what else could it have been but God's vision, watching from above, hearing kids talking of the boy who drowned. It made me a believer; anything is possible with our Heavenly Father/Jesus...heavy I know, but life is a puzzle, a mystery, God is the truth, the way and the light...keep smiling. Amen.

Your comments are beautiful and I thank you all for sharing them with us. So true Nancy... how can we despair when God FILLS the space between us and our loved ones ...when we are only (briefly ) apart from them? We must bring comfort to those still in our lives and bring joy as well. As for those we have "lost" ...time is but an illusion ...for We will see them again one day and REJOICE!!!

This wonderful rendition of I'll be seeing you, reminds me of my wonderful mother, who passed away a few years ago, along with Who's sorry now, this song was also one of her favorites. My Mum and her friend Gwen went every Friday/Saturday night (Before Television).to our local pub and enjoyed Sherry or two and then had a sing song until closing time, Those were certainly the good old days, that's for sure. Listening to this rendition brought my Mum back home to me if only for a few moments, Dare I say it, Somewhere In Time. (Love you Mum) xxxx

THIS melody is a treasure. . . and I adore the lyrics. I wanted to learn to play piano when I was in my early years. Due to unfortunate circumstances [overturned Mustang on slick iced roads in Maryland] that became next to impossible. I was fortunate to have survived that wreck that took place 21 December~ I am grateful for my life. I salute music and musicians, lyricists and will always love this tune. MUSIC MATTERS more than we realize when we are in our busy lives. It evokes so many memories. Thank you Mama - I will love you eternally. I miss your music, your sweet smile, your kind heart, your intellect etc. etc. I believe music connects us with our ancestors - string theory musician style. I love music, Maestro!

Thank yo Zaira for reminding us of the words to this most beautiful and fascinating song. It is so very applicable to some love stories. My husband died last year at age 84. He was so young mentally and as far as showing love. We dined out often and I always thought of this song whenever we sat by cafe windows, looking out across the way. I knew that one day, one of us would be looking across the way, knowing that the other was gone, but expecting them anyway. I always knew that I probably would be looking at the moon, but seeing him; only I see him everywhere; in the clouds, in a field, etc. The heavens never looked as alluring to me as they do now, that he is lost in the clouds with Jesus. I can't wait to be with Jesus and my Charles. I'll be seeing you darling, and soon.
