She actually killed Malenia pretty damned fast. Clocked in at 3 hours, 10 minutes, which I think might be the fastest (or amongst the fastest) kill times within hololive. I have no idea how a 3 hour kill clocks in compared to the general public though. She also learned how to dodge Waterfowl impressively quick. The funny part was, she found her own technique instead of some of the ones I'm more familiar with that the community promotes and teaches. It was a rather scuffed, very iffy technique that took more chip damage than most methods, (can be seen in the clip with the kill) but hey, whatever works. Not too surprising given that if anything, the flaw to her playstyle is she uses the AoW a little too much, but Giant Slayer spam vs. Malenia is a very viable approach, and she found it.

@@dzvw There's nothing brute force or sub-optimal about it. It's a very strong approach. The only thing she could've refined is that it would be better to Giant's Hunt ---> charged strong attack ----> riposte ----> rinse and repeat. You can stunlock her fairly consistently with the right combo and Pekora made it just a liiittle harder on herself but doing jump attacks instead of heavy attacks.

She did really good yeah, especially learning how to dodge all the other moves, I wouldn't say what she learned was 'dodging' so much as 'surviving' Waterfowl though lmao. There are ways to actually dodge it up close and at distance taking no damage, the close one being much harder to learn, but another option of surviving it that's much easier and faster to learn, and harder to mess up if you're using Colossal weapons or a shield, is to block the first hit, then dodge the next two because those are easier to deal with with just rolling or strafing in the right direction. Anything equivalent to a Medium shield or above makes Waterfowl much easier to deal with. A lot of people don't realize Colossal weapons work almost as good as greatshields when it comes to guard stability rating, and have high damage reduction as well because they only really pay attention to the damage, her Greatsword for instance has 56 guard stability and 84% damage reduction when blocking. Most people I see using Colossals never use the block and are just dodging everything instead of using their two-hander as a shield as well when the stats are pretty good for it.

Yeah, I learned that the game’s code literally bends over backwards to make Malenia as tough as she is. Her stance can be instantly recovered if you miss a critical attack, she has a higher than normal grade of super armor when doing her most powerful and deadly attacks. Fortunately she has little to no resistance to status effects mainly frostbite, bleed, poison, Destined Death, and most ironically Scarlet Rot. There are a few hard counters you can use, such as hitting her with Frost / Freezing pots during the Waterfowl Dance and Fire Prelate’s Charge ash of war.

9:57 I KNOW RIGHT Is not Malenia, but when I first try a Souls game, and Erdtree knight fucked me for like 6 hours in the first day It was my friend's pc so i didn't get to try it again in like 2 months In that time i bought Darks Souls 1 (since i have potato pc) and I played like 200 hours and did all the archivements Then in my second time playing elden ring i finally meet my golden Horse rival again, and I defeat him, without anything but default stats of samurai and 6 estus flask (crimson tears i think) After I defeat him (like after so many tries and after my friends was about to go) I felt so realised or fulffiled that i sleep really well that night, like a true winner I know I can't depend on my friend's pc forever but I know some day I'll meet Malenia and I'll defeat her
