Happy birthday, Mattie. Enjoying every one of your awesome videos. Love the variety of fish and puzzling over the Aussie terms. Building a database of your terminology for future reference, i.e., bommies, queenies, etc. Congrats on your engagement. It's about time. What a cute baby you two have. Love to see you're raising him right. Look forward to his fishing videos in a few years. All the best from beautiful Santa Barbara to you and yours. Rob

HB Matt! Always enjoy watching your vids definitely cheers me up. We’ve had some real crap weather here in NNSW, has not stopped raining for months and two major flood events have caused our river system and inshore to be destroyed. Thanks for keeping it real.

Apologies for the delay , Happy (late) Birthday. Dear Professor, Yes I am the one who started calling you with this title, just a quick one , to point at you that the rewarding day you had , represents the perfect definition of KARMA. You have been so generous in many ways , respecting : the sea and the environment generally speaking , the fishes you have caught and some released , us (the viewers) with sharing your knowledge

Matt - love your channel cause all you do is just catch fish. You cover some epic distances in that centre console. Have to say, makes me real nervous when you grab them fish by the gills right next to a massive lure. I've seen a set of hooks like that all the way into a mates hand when the big fish kicked. Needed hospital to get em out.

happy birthday Matty. just wondering who had who on the dropped monster lol. will venting the FM be helpful or bring them up a little slower from the deeper water, i get the noah problem. if none of that will work then targeting them as a sportfish is just wasteful. better off catching a couple for a feed n drive away n do something else. still a nice sesh mate.

Awesome video mate have always wondered why I catch long tail tuna very infrequently so will definitely give the slow retrieve plastic a go! There was a study by NT fisheries a few years back that showed fingermark suffer severe barotrauma when caught in deeper water and don't recover even if they do release well - better off eating them if you catch them 🤙
@PelagicPursuit892 жыл бұрын
I actually asked a mate about this and he said the exact same thing which sucks, so next time id rather eat him and know it might not go to waste

whats the theory behind going upwind of tuna?

tuna in my experience work bait into the wind so positioning yourself up wind will allow them to come to you and also had a wind assisted cast.

when i find a jigging mark, how do I set my drift on it? I see you doing like a man overboard figure of 8 sometimes
@PelagicPursuit892 жыл бұрын
do your figure of 8 find where their holding and then you have to guess your first drift but once you know which way you start drifting re set your self and make sure the boat and motor is facing the exact same way as the first one other wise you might veer off slightly
