Nice video question my friend broke my swivel seat how do I replace seat Thanks 🙏
@HI-PSI4 жыл бұрын
Get the $30 metal frame seat from Walmart then cut two pieces of finishing plywood, the multi-layered real wood type, then cut one piece to mount to the swivel, cut another that will be used for your seat, mount the swivel to the swivel wood, remove the seat bottom from the Walmart seat frame, then sandwich the frame between the two pieces of wood. Screw the two pieces of wood together in several locations. I did this years ago and the seat still works fine today. I also used a sealer on the wood to prevent/slow rot. The wood is uncomfortable for the most part but it is so much more stable, just bring a cushion with you.

Impressive that it fits in the back of the truck. I can't wait to see more

Burning Rubber Garage man.... Its been snowy & in the teens here in East Texas, we don't know how to act right now. Soon as it warms up I'll get back on the water and make some more vids. (With better production, still trying to hone my skills) Thanks again bud.

How did you make the pole holders in the back?

Nice Pelican. I just bought one myself and want to do some mods. What type of Locktite are you using to mount the wood to the hull?
@HI-PSI6 жыл бұрын
George Faulk Thanks man. I believe its called Stick & Seal by loctite

Does your fish finder have a side scanner? I'm interested in how you mounted the transducer, but not sure if the pontoons would get in the way of the Side scan
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
MrFlurderkian No, my fish finder is just a basic $85 Humminbird. A trolling motor mount might be better for using side scan.

If you don’t mind me asking how big a boy are ya. I’m looking into getting one. But I’m at 325

I was at 334lbs and had no issues fishing out of it. You'll be fine, the seat will break over time but you can do what I did and build a wooden one. That or lose some weight, lol. You shouldn't have any troubles though. Definitely make you a floor like I did, helps a lot with standing up.

Great ideas. We need a fish finder on our modified Pelican Bass Raider. Check those out if you like. We put a floor in ours too and it made all the difference. I am a bigger dude too so it really helped. Good information. Fish on!

Fishing With Vance I've watched a bunch of y'alls vids. Looks like you guys have a lot of fun out there. I highly recommend mounting the fish finder like I did here. The thing about it is you don't have to worry about messing with wires like you would with a trolling motor mount. All I do is unmount and unplug the finder unit at the end of the day and throw it in the glove box so its out of the weather. All I use my fish finder for is water temp, locating thermocline depth during summer (Texas), and most importantly brushpile locations. Then I use my phone's GPS to mark found features. No need for a high-dollar fish finder really.

Sounds like exactly what we need. With fishing season pretty much over here in PA on the Pelican it will be garage mod time and a fish finder is a must. Thanks for watching some of our vids and yes we have fun out there. The floor is a must as you said. Thanks for the info.

nice video man. Short and sweet. I just got a pelican predator 10'3 earlier this year, another one of those fit in the back of the pickup style plastic boats, and did some heavy modifications to it. Come check it out!

don't hit stumps this is a plastic boat.
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
Sean Burnett it's not that big of a deal bumping into stumps. You just don't want to go on top of one.
@uniquehomecustom7 жыл бұрын
Ya I know I have one I don't know about your luck but if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have luck at all and that damn stump would have a sharp edge on it and put a small hole in the boat. I have thought about cleaning mine up real good and putting a roll on bed liner a few " from the bottom just in case lol thanks for the videos man good luck and tight lines bro
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
+Sean Burnett right on man. Yeah I did knock the fish finder's transducer off on a stump but it didn't do anything to the boat, thank goodness. I've heard of folks putting bed liner on the bottom, it might do good. Tight lines back at ya!

the ramx on the pelican boats are freakin tough dude. I got into it when I did some mods to my boat earlier this year and just putting a jigsaw and even a heat knife into it is a challenge.
@rcagle1237 жыл бұрын
What about hitting stumps?
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
rcagle123 If the transducer hits a stump it will pop the wood mounting plate off the bottom without damaging the transducer or the boat. I accidentally got to test this on the river a few years back.. Hit a stump at full speed, there was a very loud pop and sure enough the transducer and mounting plate were dangling behind the boat. Got back to the house, inspected everything and there was no damage at all. I let everything dry, peeled off the old glue from both surfaces and re-glued. Its been stuck there since. Had I screwed it into the boat, the screws would have pulled right out of the plastic and immediately started taking on water.

Gordon How hard is it to load and unload in a truck and stable is it in rough water?
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
+Gordon Schrader it's pretty easy to load and unload, especially if it's stripped down. A couple years ago a buddy and I got caught in a mid summer microburst storm with winds of 50mph+, had white caps coming over the sides of the boat.. Other than getting wet from rain and waves it was 100% safe and stable. Each pontoon has foam buoys built in so it's pretty much unsinkable.
@gordonschrader69957 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for answering me. That sounds great. I am seventy and don't feel very safe in my kayak and it is hard to fish from. Think I will invest in one of these.
@HI-PSI7 жыл бұрын
Gordon Schrader No problem sir! I think you'll like it better than the kayak. Plus it's easier to stand up and move around in if you need to stretch your legs. I'm 31 years old, weigh about 320lbs and I don't have any issues with this boat. Here's some other fishing footage kzbin.info/www/bejne/f33WeZukf9mAl7s If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
