I have a camp cheff and the rec tec. I love and use my rec tec for home and the camp cheff at the cabin. The rec tec hands down is my favorite. It is worth the extra money for ease and the consistency of temperature control and the pellet hopper is huge

I bought a Z Grills Pellet Smoker & I have only used it 3 times since getting it a little over a week ago. I CANNOT be any HAPPIER!!! I AM IN LOVE. I made Brisket, Filet Mignon, Sirloin Steak, Shrimp & Huge Sea Scallops. I also did baked potatoes, asparagus & balsamic marinated portobello mushrooms. I have honestly NO COMPLAINTS. I LOVE MY Z GRILLS!!!

I tell you right now, if you have the money, get the rec tec. Yes it's more sometimes a lot more than regular pellet grills, but it's worth it. It's sooo much more better than the other grills. Believe me go with it. If you can get the 700 version, that one you can order the front loading shelf. Heck it has a smoke box you can attach to it if you want to order it.

@@dotdot7020 Love the 590. Size is prefect to cook brisket and others. Depending on what you cook though, the 340 may work, but the 590 is perfect though for us. Cooks amazing. Efficiency is unreal compared to other grills. Get a sear kit also, makes cooking steak great.

I recently bought the Z Grill. So far, I have cooked boneless chicken, turkey breast and a tri tip roast. I have successfully smoked these meats on my propane bbq in the past, but my apartment rules say "electric only," and so I bought the Z Grill. However, the chicken turned out very chewy and the tri tip was ok, but both didn't get the REALLY smokey flavor that I got from my propane bbq. I want MORE smoked flavor, but I don't know if this Z Grill will give it. Any suggestions?😕

I have a cuisinart grill with pellet smoker/propane combo and love it no problems!! Most pellet grills are much the same. Mine came with two temp probes and a heavy duty cast iron griddle and its Bluetooth ready for monitoring your grill through the app. I went with the combo because this way we have options for fueling/cooking. Being that propane fluctuates I felt the smoker is actually more economic then propane if you're patient and have time to cook slow and low. Its like a BBQ crockpot. We all know how good food turns out when its slow cooked. So that's why I went with a combo but all pellet smokers are much the same concept of indirect smoking basically and also you can do a wet smoke to them by soaking a wood chunk in water and placing it on the smoker grates. Also can do a cold smoke as well!!! I love it and smoking is the only way I can cook, my wife is the cook in the house!!

One thing rec tech now has there grills with wiifii from your cell . Also all there fireboxes are now stainless steel . I like to see you match up the rectech trailblazer to the davy crocket tailgate grill. I didnt like the rectech as much before but i sure do now . Do all your other brands have stainless steal firebox like rectec just went to this last spring? The rectech grills also come with two ports or plug ins to plug in your meat thermometers . You can run two at a time and see the temps on your cell phone or grill . Im amazed how much info i can see on my cell phone . On off switch set your temps and see what current temp is. You need to review and compare all these new model rectech grills now

After reviewing this video I did not favor any of them , that being said I did go with the Green Mountain Daniel Boone Prime. And here’s why : • DC direct power controlled • Temp range 150-550 deg • PID controller is one of the best on the market • Little to no heat fluctuations +\- 3-4 deg • WiFi • Dual meat probes • 13 gage metal • Ash clean out system • 458 sq in cooking area • 3 yr warranty 5 yr support • Optional Accessories : • 900 deg pizza oven attachment • Rotisserie attachment So overall this is in my opinion the better smoker. Price point $799

Without getting into it, I had a Yoder YS-640 for over 2 years. Those of you who think they are the shiznit either dont use them 3 plus times a week or whatever. The one I purchased was built March 2nd 2017, It was a nightmare from day one. Long story short, I sold it for $800.00 this week and bought a Pit Boss. Used my brothers 820 D and that is the bees knees. Money isnt necessarily the issue, its when I have company or cook for an event...it better be right! The place that sells them here in KS is an extension of the manufacturer. They will not allow a negative review hit the forum. Good luck!

@@LH-jq1lw Fan, igniter and thermocouple. Lid had overbite. Smoke was non existant with any pellets.

@@LH-jq1lw This is because people NEVER want to admit they wasted 1500 - 1800 dollars on a grill. I can tell you there are NUMEROUS issues due to rust. Mine rusted inside the lid and top half of the grill, around the hinges until they broke. I went through a number of igniters over the years. The firebox tray on the older ones all warped. The process to upgrade the firmware is tedious at best (you had to email the company and there was a programmer that was mailed around the country, where you did yours and mailed it to the next guy). There are also issues with the drip pan, as it warps badly over time...its a giant steel pan that sits directly under the bottom cooking surface. All in all there are issues with ALL pellet grills, and they require much more maintenance than say a ceramic smoker/grill. Are the yoders the only ones with these problems, I would say not. If you look at all the pellet grills available, I would bet the Yoder is by far the most solid (its over 300 lbs) and I NEVER had issues with it cooking once it was up to temp....the Traegers and others use a MUCH thinner gauge steel so they dont retain heat and are affected by outside temps for more than the Yoder. Of all the pellet grills I have been around the Yoder was probably the highest quality but the long term is a bit up in the air...I can also say that it cooked FANTASTIC. I never had a bad meal off of the Yoder...except once it started rusting, it dropped rust particles on my food....which was frustrating to say the least. I will be sanding and repainting again this year to see how it goes. To be honest, a cermaic cooker is better IMHO, as its pretty much zero maintenance and cost of ownership is FAR less...both initial cost and long term.

Fake review! They don't test anything and have probably never even used a pellet grill. They just compile some manufacturers marketing material and post links that earn them referrals. Fake!

No way!! You guys in the comments are telling me an $1800 (yoder) smoker is better then $500 smokers? I think this review is for average user pellet grills, not the best money can buy.

After spending many hours researching, for $900 I think the Camp Chef Woodwind w/ 900* side sear box looks like a great deal. It seems they have given the engineering just a bit more thought. I'll let you know in a week.
