legit one one of the best reviews of these bags in comparison. Trying to research online for all reviews of these individually but they all went past what I really was searching for. Then I found this and didn't expect you having the other bags I'm reviewing also. 10/10 real world problems reviewed.

I know the pain of looking but not finding answers to the questions you really wanna know. Which is why I make the effort to review stuff that doesn’t really get too much attention. Glad it was helpful.

Thank you for this review. I was close to getting the MW Rambler but I agree with your comments that the organization and internal pockets are worth having---I need something for work. I guess I now know why it was so hard to find videos of the interiors of the Mission Workshop and Chrome bags... Because they are just stuff packs! I like the new Cobra clip on the Rambler, and I wish there was some faster clips on the Peloton Asphalt. I'm not a fan of the slide clips, but I guess I could get used to it.
@HumorousMaximus
@HumorousMaximus 7 жыл бұрын
I hear you - those interior shots were hard to find, mainly because there wasn't much to show. I think it's a trade off with the slide hooks - it lets you use them pretty much any way you want to strap in extra cargo. Any hook can hook onto any side of the bag without additional mechanisms, if they were to use a type of buckle, we'd have to deal with a bunch of extra hardware dangling around - it probably wouldn't be as versatile as it is now. That Cobra clips is nice though.

@3:21 If the compartment is reasonably small, it doesn't matter. Ergonomics and comfort have a higher priority to me. Compartments are nice but if they are too small they are useless.

So I noticed that you have other reviews on other cool backpacks, i just wanted to ask you what do you think about this backpack? After going through all the other ones, do you still think this one stand to the other ones? Boundary both of them, the north face , etc. I was thinking on getting the regular pelotón but still, I just wanted to know your opinion about it, thanks !

I still stand by my scores for this bag. This bag is definitely geared more for travel, it’s a bit too big for an EDC pack. It uses lots of Velcro, so expect it to be a very noisy experience.

The bag never seems to be in stock. Plus, I failed to register on LBB's website simply becuase Latvia is not even in their country list. Too bad. The backback does seem to be great! I would definitely buy one.

It took me a few tries to find it in stock as well. They have some new reflective models of their bags now, they're actually pretty cool looking.

HumorousMaximus Thank you! Did you eventually buy it from LBB’s site? Yes, new reflective bags are very cool, but they are not in stock either. Is the company even working still? I sent them a question about Asphalt. Let’s see what they say.

I agree with you and also complained to LBB regarding the terrible design of the front cliip. I spent 5-10 minutes once trying to take it off and I never used it since. Great bag overall except that 1 thing
@HumorousMaximus
@HumorousMaximus 6 жыл бұрын
They did offer to replace it with another one with stronger snaps, or a different plastic fastener. I went with the plastic slide hook, standard one like on most other bags. It’s less cool-looking but much more functional. They were great!

Nice, I should ask them too. By the way, these ripstop Corduva fabrics rips. I slide on my back after an accident and yeah, they rip so I’m also disappointed about that

Thanks for the review. I appreciate the details on the quality. The company is from Indonesia. Any particular reason you went with the asphalt and not the other Colours that come with the bright interior? The full black interior is tough to find stuff?

What is the difference between this one and the other one "the rolltop"? I read in another review people complaining that the strap system on the outside of the bag is poorly fastened at the bottom and it can not hold much weight.
@hgylfason1
@hgylfason1 7 жыл бұрын
I asked Life Behind Bars this question and got a thorough response. Hope this helps: """ Ok, so the difference between the two are several, i’ll break them down to the following points below: 1. Materials. The Peloton Asphalt has additional 6mm thick, vegetable-tanned genuine cow black leather embellishing all over the bag, in the form of zipper pulls, label base, sunglasses slot, etc, while the regular Peloton does’t have any. 2. Parts. All Parts in the regular peloton uses Acetal (POM) Plastic parts, while most of the parts in Asphalts uses a 6061 series aluminium which is not only stronger, but also provides nicer aesthetics. 3. Function. Primarily in the external carry system, Asphalt has more options when it comes to carrying stuff outside of the bag, in addition to four horizontal and diagonal hook straps that can be combined with many varieties there are also two vertical hooks that can latch onto the bottom of the bag, there are two attachment points only available on Asphalt, this means the items will have vertical support in addition to lateral support. Additionally, the afformentioned vertical hooks also serve as the rolltop closure, and since the lenth of said hook straps are adjustable, it also serve to tighten the rolltop closure whenever the rolltop gets expanded, meaning you’ll have a much more stable top part when moving, compared to the regular Peloton. The Asphalt also sports a side handle, and a luggage slot. Two things that the regular Peloton has yet to have. 4. Lining The Regular Peloton uses a lightweight 150D Polyester inner lining, which provides decent amount of water repellency. Combined with the 1000D cordure® outer, it can withstand continuous exposure to rain for up to 40 minutes. The Asphalt however, uses a slightly heavier TPU tarp liner, a fabric impenetrable by liquid no matter how long the exposure is. 5. Size The Asphalt has a slightly bigger capacity of 48L compared to the 44L of the regular Peloton. The five points above are the main difference between the two, there are also several other minor cosmetic differences such as color, graphic styles in the labels, the amount of freebies you get in the box etc. """

Syng Ha I did, they were really great and gave me different options to pick from. I ended up getting a plastic slide-hook. The aluminum looked really cool but it needs to be refined, its way too boxy and cumbersome to use.

Hello! Thanks for your thoughtful and honest review. I have a question regarding the ergonomics and structure of the bag for comfort. I’m curious, when you are not carrying much in the big compartment does the ergonomics make it uncomfortable? In other words is the backpack only comfortable when there is stuff in the pocket closest to your back? Is there enough structure so it provides some support to carry the weight most likely distributed towards the front of the bag? I appreciate your time.
@HumorousMaximus

I never felt any discomfort when the large compartment was empty. Hugged my back pretty well. I kept my laptop in the front pocket, so I’d imagine the bag would feel much different had I placed my laptop up against my back.

If the bag gets drenched, would the side zipper (leading to the main compartment) leak into the laptop sleeve? The bag seems awesome but I don't know about that side zipper.
@HumorousMaximus
@HumorousMaximus 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, possibly. Water resistant does not mean waterproof. Waterproof bags look like balloons with no external pockets, and are mostly pretty ugly looking.

@@HumorousMaximus I have a Chrome Bravo 1.0. I don't mind sacrificing water resistance for more pockets/organization. But not if we are talking about the laptop sleeve compartment. IMO besides that one flaw, I think the bags are brilliantly made. Thanks for the video!

Hey Humorous. Love you reviews, they take a while but I can be sure that they are true. How do you find the comfort for this bag? I need to carry a big ass 17' laptop and this seems to be one of the few bags that can do it (in the laptop sleeve). Still recommend on 2019?

BLESS YOUR SOUL for making this review - carryology did a great job but hearing from an independent everyday customer is also VERY appreciated!!! I own the Thule DSRL roll top (but dont use it for a DSLR - only bike commuting and overnights). It's worth looking at too if you're in the market for another roll top with organization. If I ever make a review of mine, I'll send it your way :) Cheers dude.

@dano6306

Doug Quesnel Hey there! I’ve seen it on their site. While it is a step in the right direction, it is comically overpriced. Even taking into consideration that it’s built in the USA. Materials and workmanship is on par with what Chrome Industries is doing, I’d even give the edge to Chrome for using custom hardware throughout their bags. MW uses off the shelf plastic buckles, fasteners ... or if you want some actual hardware, you can pay a massive premium for it (i.e. cobra buckles). Hard pass, for me.
@dougquesnel5613
@dougquesnel5613 7 жыл бұрын
I gotta say I disagree. Though I wouldn't have without having received the rhake first. It's hard for me to judge price since in the end this bag should last me years and so $400 over the course of 5-10 years I would say is worth it. The part of contention though is your comparison to Chrome. I picked up a chrome bag the same time and the quality difference is dramatic. Not that the chrome bag is poor quality it's just the rhake is on another level. The little details around the bag, design, comfort, and feel are all well above the chrome one. Though I do like the chrome buckle design in the end I find it's not as useful as I thought it would be. If you can I would see if you could look at the rhake in person because I feel it's definitely worth the price tag. Next up I try to see how the GR2 compares though my use case with that is different.

Mission Workshop sucks. Most of their products are overpriced and poorly designed. I've owned both the waxed canvas Rummy messenger, the Rambler and Vandal backpack. Spent over a $1000 on their bags They have good marketing which draws in the hipster crowd who is willing to pay for the lifestyle associated with their products. I've sold off all my Mission Workshop gear and I'm glad someone is actually giving honest reviews for of their bags. The only thing I still have of theirs is the smaller Monty size messenger bag which has proportions that make the bag look better and small enough where my laptop sleeve can give it some shape.

Thanks dude for this honest review, glad you didn't gloss over stuff. Quick question though, I'm currently looking for a nice backpack that can carry a laptop & a DLSR, would you recommend this one or something else? I really dig the rolltop types but wouldn't mind checking out other kinds. Also, I know this one and alot of other bags don't have built in camera slots, but I can always get camera inserts. Thanks again for the great review!
@HumorousMaximus
@HumorousMaximus 7 жыл бұрын
Aashil R. To be honest, I don't own a single piece of camera equipment so I really don't know a thing about packing for it. What I can tell you is that I'm currently using a Peak Design backpack and it's designed to hold camera gear and other stuff. I've held off on making a video because I'll usually make something for products that aren't really talked about. Peak Design has about a thousand videos - you should look into it. The Asphalt is still the best rolltop I own.
