Just received my Nordictrack bike today. It came on time but due to the Covid-19 situation, I had to build the bike myself. It was easy to build and I am really impressed with the bike. Well done Nordic Track. Cambridge, UK.

I have both an ifit and a peloton . The peloton subscription has way more options that include live classes. Ifit is all recorded on demand classes . After a little bit I noticed I took most on demand classes from my favorite coaches . I think with peloton it’s worth the extra money for more content and interactive classes.
@lcurns
@lcurns 4 жыл бұрын
I guess my questions is...Is it worth the extra $600 to $700 dollars for the initial year and $288 every year after that ( difference between ifit and peloton programming) to have a live coach? I don't have either bike, but is it true that the Peloton will not work without the subscription? If that's true I have to pay $468 every year to use the bike?
@chrischris711
@chrischris711 4 жыл бұрын
@@lcurns hi !!! You can use the Peloton without a subscription but you wouldn't have access to their live or on demand classes. You tap on the screen 3 times and it goes into Internet mode. Once the Ifit first year is over you have to buy the subscription too. I have both platforms an iFit rower and a Peloton Bike. When I decide between the 2 for a daily workout, Peloton always wins. iFit has a limited library whereas Peloton has new classes every day and years of on demand classes. iFit is really clunky, when i use their touch screen it has a huge delay and it loud. Also iFit has a screen saver that stays on all the time where as Peloton goes into "sleep mode" and the screen turns off. My peloton subscription offers my family to join under my account (added profiles) but iFit doesn't do that; i would have to buy them a subscription. Some of the iFit instructors are cool and I really enjoy their content where as others are long winded. 1 workout that was strength had a 10 minute orientation about kettle bells out of a 30 minute class. Im like 'lets GO man !' On the other hand Peloton is not perfect some of their trainers are down right annoying and preachy; but they have a handful of trainers that are always on point. Its really up to you but perhaps you can find a friend with each platform to test them out. Or if you have a Peloton show room in your area perhaps they are open for a demo. Also, Peloton has an Ap that you can do the workouts without their machine. Their subscription is the same if you were to buy a machine from Peloton, but i think they have a trial period that you could cx before youre billed. I would def try before you buy if you are unsure. Hopefully i was helpful :)

Very good review and I am with you 100 percent until buying the Nordictrack. Mine broke after using it for a month. Customer service was a disaster. Took over 2 weeks to get the part. I agree 100 percent with the digital resistance it was awesome but thats also what broke on mine. I was able to get amazon to take it back. I will be trying a peloton after my experience with Nordictrack.

I've only had my bike a couple of weeks but I am very happy with my decision even though I did have a minor glitch in that I needed to have them send me a new wire to fix the resistance function on the handlebar. So much for a "parts and labor" warranty when due to COVID, the labor turned out to be me. I can live with that since they had the part out to me within a few days. CS took about 15-20 minutes to get connected but the were very helpful. I'm a serious road biker but also an avid skier and hunter so I bought the bike solely for those days when I knew I would not get out on my road bike. I had zero interest in spin classes so the virtual outdoor feature mattered most. I had thought that the incline/decline function might prove to be little more than a gimmick but I actually love it! It simply adds to the experience the way a tilting or vibrating seat might work similarly at a carnival or an Imax. It's really a better more realistic workout for those relevant muscles. In fact I found that putting my road bike on a Turbo trainer and watching the news, while controlling the intensity myself was boring and uninspiring. I did it but I didn't have any fun really. I love being able to "ride" mountain bike trails all over the world with this new cycle! I find the instructor controlling the incline and decline as well as the resistance (makes it harder to slack off) all the while engaging in some motivational hoo-rahs and/or witty repartee just too much fun! I actually look forward to getting on the bike for these "all over the world adventures!" If I want a spin class where I get to know everybody I can take them at my gym down the street. I even think the bike is sharp looking! Better than the Peloton (though slightly as I don't really care about that aesthetic for machines like this). My friend has a Peloton and it is a very well made bike but it doesn't have all that I mentioned above that really keeps me motivated. I am actually skipping a couple of real outdoor rides most probably due to the novelty of being able to ride in Japan or BC etc. with a witty, informative instructor, "outside!" I have little doubt that NordicTrack will catch up with their competition for the classes I won't be in. Peleton has been outdone in the ways that matter to me. It is an obviously better design in my opinion. I am surprised by the people who are bothered by the "roar" of the motor inclining. etc. and find it distracting. Distracted from what? I barely notice it. Finally, since you can get a single subscription for $15 a month after your free first year, you end up saving literally hundreds of dollars over the Peloton! Currently $24/month savings every month! I think you need to find a real girlfriend if you love those Peleton instructors that much! LOL!

Thank you for the honest review! Fortunately for me, I reviewed this after buying the S22i. Better lucky than good any day. I also heard through the grapevine that the Pelaton licenses its cycle technology from Nordic Track but that, Nordic Track didn't allow Pelaton to have all of its technology which is why it has more features!!! Your review was very in-depth as it concerns the bikes. But I wish you had also reviewed the class subscriptions for both companies. That was the make or break for me. The bikes are very similar and the Nordic Track is cheaper. If you do not dig deeper, that is the end of the comparison. Nordic Track spin classes just do not compare to Peloton's classes. You buy the bike to use it. The better the inspiration the more you will use it. Peloton has next-level bike, treadmill, yoga, and strength-training classes that Nordic does not. Also, you have a few things wrong about the Peloton subscription and warranty. The Peloton bike and the subscription for classes are separate. You can buy the bike without the subscription and you can subscribe without buying the bike, so there is no automatic charge to your credit card for the Peloton subscription. Regarding the warranty, if you change out the pedals on the Peloton to SPD, it does not void the warranty on the entire bike, just the crank arms. Also, my BlueTooth earphones pair seamlessly. Many people who prefer the SPD pedals have changed out the Peloton Look Delta pedals for the SPD ones without issue. Also, the Peloton set up crew will attach the SPD pedals for you if you have them available when the bike is delivered. Again, your review is wonderful, but I wanted to give a fuller picture for Peloton. Both bikes are great, but for me, the classes make all the difference, so I went with the Peloton.

If you want the Peloton app, then you could purchase that with the Nordic track. Maybe best of both worlds - stream/cast from your phone to a TV. Not sure if you could cast to the Nordic Track monitor. You still have access to all classes including live classes from the app. I have heard you just don’t get the leaderboard since it displays on the monitor. You can get a 30 day free trial of the app to see if you feel you are missing anything if you already own a piece of equipment. Considering the Nordic Track but like you was interested in the live classes from Peloton. 🤔

NordicTrack is supposed to have started live classes before the pandemic. I have it and like the other reviews stated, so many workouts to choose from. That value has been even more so since the pandemic. M friend has a peloton and he said the don’t have the same quality of classes bc of pandemic. Besides you can get peloton app and subscribe live classes for$19 per month.

Best comprehensive review of both bikes but I recommend cranking to x1.25 speed because she talks really slow. For Canadians: Peloton only delivers to very select locations, Nordic track delivers to my rural area. However at this time they are sold out and customer service says it will be 6 months before they get more (wtf). Prices are much higher and not that far apart for both bikes in Canada.

On paper the nordic track definitely seems like the better option but from someone who had the peloton, switched to nordic track and then went back to peloton take my advice. If you value the classes definitely go with peloton. Their classes are BY FAR better than nordics tracks and its not even close. If you want an interactive ride, specifically scenic rides, nordic track BY FAR has better scenic options. But for me and my wife, the classes on peloton as far as the amount and just the down right quality of the classes are far far far superior on peloton compared to nordic track. Peltons instructors are amazing. Nordic track is very bleh.

@@alexandrademartini7496 Great question. When you are going through an iFit or a Google maps ride on the bike, the resistance and incline will auto-adjust for you. If you want that shut off you will just have to manually set your incline to zero and it will make it so the machine doesn't auto-adjust. If you do this though, it won't auto-adjust your resistance during the workout anymore so you will have to set the resistance yourself. Hopefully that makes sense and helps answer your question.

I purchased the S22i. I want to share my experience so everyone knows their is a big downside to this purchase. I purchased both a treadmill and the bike, I paid the $249.00 for delivery and assembly. I thought it was for the treadmill which weighs 400 pounds but they added it to the bike which took less than an hour to setup. First time on the bike, the seat rotated backwards so the tip of the seat in front was pointing upwards. they did not leave the wrench that comes with the bike, so I called NordicTrack and they sent me a new one in about a week. I removed the seat and tightened it as well as I could but the wrench started stripping out the bolt and I barely put any pressure when trying to tighten the seat. I rode the bike again and the sear rotated back again but not as much as last time. I hurt my back and have been to the Chiro 4 times since. I called and asked for someone to come to the house and fix the seat and they said they would not do that, I could TRY to return the bike. They offered to send someone over to fix the seat or give me another year of IFIT and I said no thanks. I was charged almost $200 for a restock fee and another $249 to ship the bike back. The bike cost me about $700 to ride it 3 times. Im 57 years old, Ive owned at least a dozen bikes. I ve completed triathlons, I have done all sorts of maintenance to my bikes. If you are a heavier rider like me and the seat Fuc$s up, you are going to be out $700 or run the risk of hurting your back. Just something to keep in mind. I like my treadmill but the bike for me was a disaster. I told Nordictrack Reps I would post online, I felt they should not have charged me an additional $249 to return the bike and they refused. Something to consider if you are not 100% positive about purchasing this bike.

The return policy states that you will be charged a 10 % restocking fee and $249 to return the bike. Unless my math is wrong it cost you $449 dollars to return the bike. It also says that the delivery charge is non refundable which is probably why you came up with $700. So you lost $700 dollars because you didn't want to go to your local bike shop and spend $32 on a new seat and bolt? Your issues have more to do with the contractor who assembled your bike, you stripping the bolt trying to repair it, and not understanding/reading the return policy before you purchased it. Lesson learned.

I wonder which one is better for short people. I am even top to legs but I sat on the Peloton in the mall and felt that at its shortest settign I was still over reaching. I have not sat on a Nordictrack. Wondering if anyone has. Also, FYI I have been a road rider for over 40 years and now that my knees are older I find the flat petal to be the best for my knees. If I need a clip for a road ride I will change out my campus pedals but inside in the winter. Meh. But want to hear from others about short reachers.

Thanks for checking out our review! With both seats at their lowest point, and the pedals at their lowest stroke point, the Peloton is about 25.5" and the S22i is about 26.5" so the Peloton is just a little bit lower. We hope this helps, let us know if you have any follow up questions. Thanks!

I've only been able to ride it 5 times. I waited more time for replacement bikes and parts than I've actually had a bike to ride. Customer service charges hundreds of dollars (a $250 restocking fee + 10% of the cost) to return it so don't fall for the claim of a 30 day return.

I never leave comments but I had to for the Nordictrack S22i Studio Cycle. On paper it was better than the Peloton, my wife had one but I liked the tilting/swiveling monitor and the live rides led by an instructor through cities, etc. I had to pay for shipping but got a military discount and had to assemble the bike myself. It was still cheaper than the Peloton with an extended warranty. Got the bike set up, hopped on it and the cranks made a squeaking noise. Also the monitor is mounted on a circular tube which gets inserted into the neck of the frame. I noticed if I stood up the monitor shakes, alot. I thought it needed to be tightened but it was the whole bike. I talked to support and they said that sometimes the cranks need to be broken in and can make a little noise. I didnt pay over 2000 for a bike that makes noise and a monitor that shakes. The bike is on a level floor and is very sturdy. When I talked to the sales rep they told me I had 30 days to try it and if I didnt like it I would have to pay the return shipping. I didnt like that but was fine. What my sales rep didnt tell me was the 10% restocking fee, so that the return would cost me $500 total. I never would have bought it knowing it would cost that much to return. My wife's Peloton was delivered and set up as part of the price and returns are free. If you get the Nordictrack S22i make sure you 100% love it. The classes on the Peloton are so much better as well, the outdoor rides are cool on the Nordictrack but they dont have music, just the instructor talking. I will never buy Nordictrack again, they got me once but not again. Their equipment is nice but the deceptive tactics are BS. I have the Peloton Bike + coming in a few weeks, having used my wife's I am very excited. Just beware and read the fine print so you dont get screwed like I did.

BUYER BEWARE. This review is going to be incredibly long, so in summary: -The machine itself is just okay but the monitor shakes while in use. The incline feature makes the motor roar which is super distracting. -After ordering, we heard nothing for over three weeks. After calling them (during banker's hours), they said they guessed it was lost but then it arrived one week later. -You are REQUIRED to get "white glove delivery." This is just the cost of shipping. They came and set it up wrong, without a mat and missing a piece that we noticed later that night trying to reduce the wobbling of the machine. -Machine software is terrible and constantly freezes -Touchscreen is very unresponsive, might need a hammer to effectively navigate within it -iFit content was nearly impossible to navigate if you can even get it to work -CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE, SOME OF THE WORST (right up there with Verizon) -Returning it costs $700 (not the $400 they tell you over the phone) and you have to jump through hurdles to get this done at all even though there is a 30 day free trial (don't neglect to read fine print). Long version: We wanted a Peloton but (stupidly) decided to shop around. In our shopping we found the Nordictrack SS2i and decided it seemed as good as Peloton and was cheaper, so we decided to go for it (based on various review sites that look like impartial third party sites). Ordering was easy and we were so excited. We were expecting a call within 1-3 days to schedule delivery as our order confirmation stated. 3.5 weeks later and there was no call. So I had to call them between 8am-5pm. The rep on the phone said he guessed that it was lost. He wasn't apologetic and didn't seem to care and just asked if I still wanted it or what. Thought that was weird but whatever, I still wanted it! Two days later, the delivery service called and scheduled delivery for the following week. So 4.5 weeks after our initial order, some men from Ryder arrive with the bike. They track muddy snow through our whole house and reek of cigarettes but I can get over that easily. They set the bike up without its mat causing a screw to dig into our wood floor (before any human sat on it). Every single screw was loose so my husband tightened every one himself. In doing so, he found that there was a piece missing from the underneath of one of the front feet. While that explained some of the wobbling of the bike itself, the wobbling of the screen is just a feature of it (see it wobble in their marketing video!). Customer service was closed by the time our bike was set up so my husband called the only available number - the sales department. He was on hold for 40 minutes and then explained the situation of the crappy set up and the missing part. While the rep was no help at all and told him to call customer service instead (during banker's hours), he agreed to add notes to our file about all of the problems thus far (which he did not do). Enter iFit. No program could be as unintuitive as iFit - what a mighty feat they've achieved! Once I figured out that I could have more than one profile and set two up, I logged in to check out some of the content. I understood that I could do workouts across all my devices anywhere, anytime. I began clicking through the workouts that instructed me to press the play button. The play button did nothing on EVERY single workout that I tried to view. I tried different devices, different browsers, rebooting, etc. So I don't know if iFit is actually just a scam or if it was just broken that night or what. So pissed. We hooked up our iFit accounts on the bike. There were some cool guided rides in really neat places! However, the content would freeze in the middle, not save progress, not record cadence and on and on and on. Changing the resistance on the touch screen is always delayed. Sometimes SUPER delayed. Resistance is supposed to match the videos but it never does. At all. The incline feature which sounded neat is NOT neat. It kicks on the super loud motor and doesn't feel much different no matter the incline or decline. The touchscreen is so unresponsive. We were constantly banging on it to get it to do something. Furthermore, one of the features we were most excited about was the connectivity to Google Maps. You are supposed to be able to bike anywhere in the world and select your own route on Google maps but rather than biking the route, you just pedal and the screen serves you slideshows of grainy images from Google Earth's streetview of wherever you selected to bike. Incredibly misleading and definitely not fun. As the night wore on, we felt more and more swindled. We couldn't get in touch with anyone from Nordictrack customer service OR iFit (also banker's hours). Two days later after no contact from either party after emails sent, chats opened and complaints lodged, my husband called to return the bike. I wasn't there but the journey sounds like it was beyond arduous and frustrating. They tried to get him to agree to letting a technician come out in A FEW WEEKS to look at the bike. If the technician found something wrong, our thirty day trial, money back guarantee (minus $400!) would start then. Should the technician NOT find a problem and the bike is actually just shitty, our thirty day trial would have started when the bike was delivered. A certain guarantee that we would surely be screwed and unable to return the bike for any sort of refund at all. So, $400 to return it is what they told us (we owe $250 shipping fee plus a 10% restocking fee (READ THE FINE PRINT)). If we are upset about their "white glove service," we can call up Ryder and fight with them about it. Clearly a partnership that isn't working well. The second my husband finally hung up the phone and got them to believe he is ACTUALLY returning the machine, they turned off our iFit (amazing what they are able to do with swift immediacy when they can't do ANYTHING else right or within any reasonable amount of time). They won't come to get it for TWO TO FOUR WEEKS. So now we have to look at this thing for at least a month (no way they will be here in two weeks). All the while being in the way of the Peloton that we ordered the following day. Last note - when we began our comparison process, we believed that we were on third party sites that were reviewing the Nordictrack and Peloton. I am 99.9% certain these are marketing campaigns created by Nordictrack's marketing firm. I grew up thinking that Nordictrack was a reputable brand only to discover that they were bought out by the company that owns iFit. Clearly their new company philosophy is to drive Nordictrack into extinction - a depressing fate. UPDATE: It took them four weeks to come get the bike. They charged us a total of $700 to return it, not the $400 we were told it would cost. When we called to question this, they had no idea why were charged the ext $300. They called a few days later to let us know that we had to pay for the initial $250 white glove service, 10% restocking fee PLUS the undisclosed return white glove service of $250. Also, we were charged a late fee when we didn't pay our initial bill which was the total cost of the bike (because we returned the bike two days after we received it). They did end up reimbursing us this fee but still. The Peloton is a true dream. These bikes should not even be compared. From the moment we ordered it to our daily use of the bike and the accompanying app and its content. The Peloton guys that delivered it were helpful and excited - walking us through setup, features and so on. The bike is silent. The app is so dependable, never freezing, never crashing. The touchscreen is actually responsive. When you touch it, it does what you touched! Spend the extra money on the Peloton. And... ALWAYS READ FINE PRINT. ALWAYS KNOW THE SOURCE OF REVIEWS AND COMPARISON WEBSITES.

You complain too much. Seriously. A well written review omits useless information and focuses on the main points - things like "cigarette smoke" or "bankers hours" are entirely irrelevant and demonstrates that you just want to complain. In fact, this kind of detail casts into doubt the honesty of your entire review and the reader might question whether you're being paid by Peloton. You might be a shill. You might be telling the truth. You might have gotten a dud machine. But your review isn't particularly useful as written. Not to mention there are literally dozens of videos showing the screen works, it connects to iFit, etc. These aren't all Nordictrack marketing materials. Also, if you were charged undisclosed fees, why did you pay them? The return policy is clearly a 10% restocking fee on a $2000 machine ($200) plus $250 which does not equal $700. If you're including that, not only is it not accurate, all of this is CLEARLY spelled out on their website and it took 5 seconds via Google search to locate the policy. So again, inaccurate or misleading statements cause your entire review to be cast into doubt. Next time, focus on the main issues - incomplete white glove setup, difficulty with the touchscreen, difficulty in returning - and that makes it far more useful to the reader AND gives you more credibility. Laundry lists of every perceived mistake and issue makes the writer look bad.

Marco Martin I like it a whole lot because of the iFit feature. Once this pandemic lifts and the live classes start, it will be amazing. What I don’t like is that you can’t plug in a iPad or use the screen for browsing the web. I guess that’s a deal with iFit for the subscription. I would still do the subscription even if I had that option. I purchased an iPad holder from amazon that is really for my wife more than me. Mine is in the garage, so when I want watch movies, I just turn the volume off and watch on a tv I have in the garage. The visuals are amazing, riding trail, competitions around the world. There are 30 minute rides that are beasts. The other thing I like is that the trainers adjust the bike incline and declines, although you can manually adjust to fit your own abilities. And the leaderboard allows you to see what other riders are doing, plus segmented by age group, so you will see all riders and their ages, and see how those in your age group are doing so that you can tr and kick their butts. At least that’s what I try and do!😂🤣

Good review for the most part. Couple of thoughts however. Regarding the Pedals, this advantage should go to Peloton. You can't possibly get the optimal workout unless you're clipped in. When working against hard resistance, you push AND PULL. You simply cannot pull with a flat pedal, and proper form would be nearly impossible to maintain using a toe cage, so your workout is limited to the downstroke, completely ignoring the posterior leg muscles. Out of the saddle on flat pedals or a toe cage, no way, no stability. Also, cycling shoes have a rigid sole to stabilize the foot to prevent issues with your feet. Cycling shoes are a must for anyone serious about indoor cycling. If you're buying a bike to casually pedal to burn a few calories, you're wasting your money on either of these machines. Buy one at Dick's for $300. Bluetooth is a game changer as well. Never mind the amazing convenience of attaching to wireless headphones, how about the ability to connect to a Bluetooth stereo receiver to create the "Studio" type environment. I love working out to music, and the quality coming through my home stereo makes it feel like I'm in a live studio. The weights are not even worth mentioning. Weights are $1 a pound. Do the math on the savings. The heartrate monitor is a miss for Peloton. Should be included. But again, this isn't a game changer. (A tip for the reviewer, the heartrate monitors do not use Bluetooth, they use ANT+ connectivity, and I've had yet to have a problem with my devise staying connected to the Peloton) The most important factor in the decision I made to buy a Peloton was whether or not this piece of equipment would be used as intended as a fitness tool, or would it be used as a clothes hanger. The whole Peloton experience is just heads and tails above the iFit program. That's what mattered most to me. The instructors are top notch, the user interface is absolutely 100 times more user friendly than iFit, and the variety of classes and instructors is fantastic. Tracking your fitness goals/results are incredibly simple and straightforward on the Peloton app. When it comes down to it, the most important factor in the purchasing decision should be, "What's it going to be like to work out on this machine?" and "Am I going to like this?" Peloton wins here..... and that is the biggest GAME CHANGER.

You can do scenic rides, but it's not what it's cracked up to be. It's basically just a video that plays. It's not interactive, so it's not like you appear to go any faster or slower based on your cadence. Just not an overwhelming experience. I don't use it. Regarding the classes being boring. I assumed the same. I didn't even want the thing, I got the bike for my wife as she loves spin classes. But I have to tell you, it was in the basement for about a month and just hearing her using it and the instructors in the classes.... it motivated me to jump on Amazon and grab a pair of shoes.... In an online review, I am looking for good comparison details, which your review gave, so thank you. Very organized and straight to the point. I am considering and indoor bike for offseason road bike training, so the interesting feature for me is the google maps function on the S22i. Obviously there is no comparison between real road bike training sessions and and indoor one but it would be great to find something close. I see a lot of reviews below and most of the negatives are on the classes not the actual quality of getting ready for a road bike event or season. Are there any real cyclist that can comment on this aspect of both bikes? Personally, I do not need a live class or family to get motivated during a training session but the closer to a real bike ride would be the best feature.

Thanks for the review..you really OVER emphasize the need for the cycling shoe...you can buy the toe cage on Amazon for $21 or $45 from Peloton. The screencast is a huge, huge void not to have...everyone has a smart TV now. It is horrible to try and do all of the other things available, such as yoga, strength training on a iPad or lap top..no way to watch it from on top of the bike. One of the biggest reason people stop working out or don't even start is because things are too complicated. So its not good if you "have to figure it out" in my opinion. The google maps feature is cool. The chest strap monitors are really funky to use in my opinion anyway..I have the scoshe that goes on the forearm which I like much better. I wish you had shown the screens of both bikes in the videos..thanks so much for the comprehensive review.

I've done my research into both of these, and went back and forth before settling on the Nordictrac. Here's an update. First, Nordic no longer includes the heart monitor, and in fact they've gone to an armband monitor, but it's not included ($99). As for as screencast, you can pull up the workout on Nordic's app and cast it as well, so the Peleton doesn't offer much that way. Also, unlike the Peleton, the Nordic Trac has an HDMI Out port that will allow you to plug in to a large screen; I know it's not as convenient as directly casting from the unit, but that's a minor problem - you get the same result. I'll be getting the Nordic delivered in the next 7 days or so. The monthly cost is steep for both if you have a family, but the first year being free is HUGE, and a big score for Nordic. Good review. Fair and objective.

Thanks for checking out our review. On your desktop computer (we haven't been able to make it work on mobile) if you go to Peloton's website and look at all of the different bike packages offered you can find the details. Next to "Delivery and Setup" there is a little "i" that shows more information. If you hover over this you will see the details that say that delivery and setup is $250, this is mandatory when you purchase the bike. This mandatory delivery and setup brings the price up to $2245. It isn't possible to buy the bike just buy itself, but without the mandatory delivery and setup fee, the bike would cost $1995. We tried to get down into the details as much as possible for this comparison to really show the cost comparisons of both bikes. We apologize for the confusion at all but we hope that our explanation here makes sense. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there is anything we can help with.

This was a bias review from the beginning. Whenever she had to say something that Peloton has that the NordicTrack doesn’t, she down played it and made it seem like you don’t need it. The problem is most people who buy the Peloton wants those features and it’s obvious that more people want those features. Did she mention that if you finance the bikes, the monthly payment is cheaper for the Peloton. The Peloton also gives you 10 user profiles, so if you get the family plan with NordicTrack you pay $33 for up to 5 family members, plus the $18 more a month, that means it’s actually $11 more a month with the NordicTrack after the membership fee

Largely based on your review, I purchased the S22i. Although I am generally happy with the bike, the seat is not comfortable. I am having a difficult time finding a compatible seat replacement. I have ordered 3 standard seats from Amazon and none of them fit. If you look closely at the rails on the underside of the S22i seat you can see that they are shaped differently than a standard bike seat. It's clearly a proprietary design, so not sure what to do?

Just received my nordicTrack s22i today Couple of things 1) can i buy a bluetooth adapter for this bike? 2) was this bike supposed to come with a heart rate strap?
@BestTreadmillReviews
@BestTreadmillReviews 5 жыл бұрын
We have read a lot of comments of people talking about purchasing a Bluetooth adapter and that it works for them but we haven't tested this ourselves yet. As for the heart rate monitor, right after we published our video, NordicTrack stopped including that with the purchase. We tried to add information in the description of the video as well as in the information box on the video to let people know. We're sorry for the inconvenience. We hope you enjoy your new machine, let us know if you have any other questions.

Not sure if you have gotten a BT heart rate strap yet, but my s22i connected to my wahoo BT heart rate strap without any issue. It just showed up -- the only down side would be if I was using the s22i, and someone else were in the house with another BT heart rate device, the s22i might pick it up first.

Update the iFit monthly subscription for NordicTrack is now $33/mo or $396/year!

@BestTreadmillReviews 5 жыл бұрын
We included that information in our review. If you are using an individual iFit account, it is $15/month, but if you sign up for the family membership it is $33/month. This is only after you've used your free 1 year membership after purchasing your machine. You get a free family membership for the first 12 months.

This review doesn't address the real buying criteria for these bikes which is the classes. People buy a Peloton because of the classes (live for example), not the bike and weather it goes up an down with the virtual road. I really wanted to know more of the differences in the apps and classes, vs a 85% discussion on a side by side static comparison.

I got a nordictrack S22i 2 weeks ago and gonna send it back. It's pretty shitty for that price (ifit crashes every other session, screen freeze, bike is instable, etc.) I will buy a proper bike and a trainer to use Zwift which seems to be a better option.

Super helpful review, thank you! Hoping you may clarify on one topic: I'm not into this idea of the instructor/bike auto-adjusting my resistance. I saw the previous comment, noting you can turn this off completely by setting to zero automatically. But do the instructors still clearly identify (verbally) where resistance should be, as they would in a Flywheel or Cyclebar class? And, if you keep auto-adjustment on, can you still notch up or down from the automatically set resistance (if you want heavier or lighter than they auto placed you at)?
@BestTreadmillReviews
@BestTreadmillReviews 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out our review. Great questions! In our experience with the S22i bike so far, the instructor won't call out specific resistance levels but they will call out what your cadence should be at during the section. This should help you to adjust the resistance to where you are fitting in the specific cadence level. When you are using the auto-adjust you can always increase or decrease your resistance on your own. Once you adjust the resistance yourself you will then be on "manual" adjustment throughout the workout. If you do this, there is a button on the screen that you can click on to take you back to what the auto resistance levels are at that will get you right back on track with the trainer. We hope this helps answer your questions. Let us know if you need some more clarification or if you have any other questions. Thanks!

I see a lot of Peloton snobbery on all these comparison videos. They mainly bring up the live classes. Big deal? iFit has just as good spinning classes, they just aren’t live where someone may or may not yell at you to pick up the pace. Come on people...iFit has so much more to offer including outstanding spin classes plus you get a bike with much better features. Who wants to come home after work and fit their workout time around when live instructors decide to start classes? I would rather workout to a spin class when I feel like starting. I also don’t want to be huffing and puffing away and having to constantly reach down to adjust the tension. I also hate the idea of my feet being locked into a peddle when I have a little dog running around or I might need to balance myself or jump off quickly. Peloton, I’ll pass.
@amgolfer3591

you do realize how power transfer working when you are "clipped" in, right? Do some homework on this before posting about it. If you are an outdoor rider I encourage you to try both and get back w/me....there is NO comparison to which one is better overall. About your little dog, put it in the damn kennel for 10-30 minutes while you ride? You seriously used that as an excuse? You can jump off the bike clipped in just as fast as being in the cage if you know how to do it; you are NOT a rider out on the road or you would know this. iFit breaks down all the time and everyone's preference is difference when it comes to live classes. If that is what a person wants, you can't beat Peloton's class structure.

Not a good comparison. I have a Peloton with the hart rate monitor. It automatically connects to the bike after I moisten the pads perfectly and holds the connection easily as long as I use the bike. You have to do the same with the NordicTrack hart rate monitor. Peloton is awesome, I am very happy with the bike. Is this comparison sponsored by NordicTrack:)
