The biggest reason to get the bike + is something you didn't mention. The additional 2 gigs of ram the + has allows the bike to be more future proof than the bike, when your spending that much money it's important that the software won't outrun the hardware.

Awesome comparison video. I have the standard Peloton Bike and purchased an attachment that allows me to rotate the screen 360 degrees and it was only $45. I will keep my original Peloton until it gives up the ghost!

After watching a billion of your videos I finally settled on a Schwinn IC4 and got it a few days ago and it's super nice, I have a hard time seeing how a Peloton is worth what it costs.

I bit the bullet on the peloton original bike. Just coz of the metrics, which I'm assuming will be constant and accurately represent my progress. Can you customise the IC4 to track power metrics like the peloton? If it's possible I might go with IC4 and cancel my peloton order.

@@reeeeeeee-e2g The metrics are not customizable nor trackable on the IC4 itself, you'd need an external app. I do not care for studio instructor lead classes; I prefer virtual & POV filmed rides. I am trialing Rouvy and am very happy with it so far. The IC4 display is pretty straightforward, however I can't stand the estimated cadence meter. I would have much preferred an exact number displayed; i bought a wahoo cadence sensor for this purpose.

This is a great comparison review and as you mentioned, it depends of individual preferences what bike to go for. The most important thing for me is ride on both of the bikes feel the same. Original bike can be tweak by swivel screen extension or external Bluetooth speaker under $50, but bike + always will be more premium product. Price difference is key factor here for sure too.

Thank you for this comparison. I was debating over these two and your video really helped me to go with the Bike+. I have absolutely no regrets as my wife and I love this thing!! The auto-resistance setting during classes is a truly truly awesome feature. I also love the Apple Watch support to monitor my heart rate on screen.

Does the automatic resistance work well? I have read that it doesn’t work as expected

@@AP-qu8sl yes it does. Not sure if others just don’t understand how it works, but it’s pretty simple. Tap the onscreen button to enable it for each class you want to use it for and it automatically changes the resistance for you based on cues from the instructor. It only works for past recorded classes though, nothing live.

Great summary/comparison! I've used both myself but mostly my own Bike+ and I have to say, I do think the 'improvements' (larger/swivel screen, better speakers, auto-resistance, Apple Watch connectivity) are useful for me. I don't think you said it, but the auto-resistance on the Bike+ only works with on demand classes--it doesn't work during live classes (or Encore, or also in 'on demand' very soon after the live class time; I've found the auto resistance only starts working about 12-24hrs after the class aired; presumably because it takes time to program in the resistance and cadence queues)

In my opinion. If you have the funds. Go with the Bike+. More RAM, better screen, etc etc. These things will make your bike last longer, it won't slow down with future updates. If you're on a type budget, go for the original bike. But realize that 1-2 year from now it might be slower due to lack of hardware compared to bike+.

Hope this comment can be answered. I used to cycle on a regular basis approximately 25 years ago. I graduated from toe clips to Look pedals. I'm getting back into shape. I've already lost 61 pounds. I do not mind the cleat style pedals. However, my wife does not like them whatsoever. I was told i could purchase the toe clips from them for around $35. How hard is it to change them between her and I? Are they durable and easy to change out? Do the pedals or Allen screws ever get loose or stripped? I also have a Samsung phone and a Galaxy watch. Am I limited on the use of those functions? Thank you in advance.

Have you ever thought of reviewing the sunny 1714 from what I've heard it might have a higher resistance then the sunny 1805 also the 1913 looks like the 1805 upgrade
