Sadly, we have to leave Penang. The saddest day as I do not want to leave this beautiful island. The people, the food and the pure serenity.
However, this is NOT the end. In fact, I am already planning my return in 2024.
Today, we return to Kuala Lumpur. In the past, we've always flown with Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia or Batik Air. However, we've decided to take the KTM train in business class back.
Train journeys in Malaysia are very different. They are affordable, extremely comfortable and the food offered is delicious.
We start the day with a last breakfast at the Chowrasta Market. Mum and Leanne had congee and I had the curry mee. So flavourful, so rich, so affordable.
We also got a multi-course meal on the train. We started with a savoury lunch and then followed with something sweet.
In KL, you can't NOT visit Jalan Alor. Whilst very touristy, expensive and busy, it IS worth it. I have been visiting for years and is centrally located, safe and absolutely delectable. We end a day of travel with dinner at Jalan Alor.

Hey Tim, another great video. I was actually eating my singapore noodles as I was watching Leanne eat her curry puff😊 I love trains too. The Indian Pacific would be a good train with good food and drinks are included. Erika from sunny Perth

I am on board with you about tourism and food. Good food is good food, whoever it is targeted to. Apparently few Parisians eat French Onion Soup or profiteroles. I feel sorry for them they are really missing out if that is true! I would not hesitate to follow your recommendation if I am ever in this city! Thank you for the video!

Well, I will be heading to Paris soon and will definitely be partaking in a few french onion soups for sure. Good food IS good food. :-) You are truly such a generous and kind supporter of my channel. Thank you so much.

I don't do intestines unless they're deep fried till crispy! That porridge looks immense! Man... Lol the pig blood. Thanks for reminders of my Busan experience. 4 fully cooked meals are the way us Asians eat. Life is too short for continental brekky, yuck. 😂 It's funny how I took Kueh Kueh for granted. Now that I can't have them, I look at your video enviously. OMG! Who's R2D2 luggage is that?! Hahaha... I'm taking mental note not to book 1A. OMG I MISS CHAI KUEH! Its the same as Soon KUEH in Singapore. But just as delicious. I just bought a retro Malaysian/ Singapore curry puff at Adelaide Central market the other day, cost me 3.50. Ouch... But it was bites of nostalgia. Ok, I wanna do this train when we next go to Penang. Omg SAI WOO! I've eaten there a few times. And down the road at Wong Ah Wah as well. Man I love Jalan Alor, that's where I introduced pepper crab to Anthony.

@@Erika-el1kp awwwwww... Thanks! The curry puff is from the stall called Nanna. Small hole in the wall blink and you'd miss it. It's not in Central Market persay, but enter from Moonta St and enter between Gong Cha and O-Town, and walk towards the market.

@@ryansofly Hey Ryan, thanks for info for the curry puffs. I'm also going to the farmers market at the showgounds to see Poh and her fabulous cakes. But getting back to your videos, do you remember the Vietnamese restaurant you visited in Perth? I remember going there as a young teen when it first opened....it looks pretty much how I remember it. Regards Erika from sunny Perth:)

I love intestines fried or boiled...OMG bak kut teh intestines is next level yum! I just wtched your busan videos and am salivating. Seriously that blood soup looked amazing. Continental brekkie? Bah humbug, not thanks. LOL That R2D2 luggage is mum's. HAHA It's the best, isn't it?! Chai Kueh is a family favourite. Mum actually makes he most amazing version but she says she's too lazy these days. HAHA I am going to have to get her to teach us so we can make it in the futre. Yes, we will totally have to take the train when we all go to Malaysia in 2024! However, due to limtied time, I will probably fly. haha
