WOW!!! I get so intimidated by backgrounds ... what to do, what NOT to do. How smart to refer to it as a muscle. I absolutely love how this page turned out and accept the challenge of conquering the fear of messing up. You’re such a great teacher and motivator ...

I do a lot of knitting and any mistakes made, that I didn't catch before casting off, I call them design features. so you made design features not mistakes. Love your videos.

The mistakes are very great. I am coloring and mistakes are so fun. I learned my mistakes and so fun.

"mistakes" are part of the process, and it's what you do with them that's important. I never had any picture turn out what I imagined, just start and keep going, enjoying the process, and then know when to stop. :D. I love the background, it fits the beetle perfect due to the mechanical parts.

I think it looks very nice. In would never have known you had made mistakes if I had seen the picture without watching the video. I think the diamonds add a lot. I give you credit for planning it all out and drawing all the shapes. I love honeycomb. I wanted a simular effect and I went and bought a stencil, it never even crossed my mind that I could draw it myself.

This came out really cool. I love the background. I love that you left your mistakes in the video so we can learn from them. Thank you

Thank you for that awesome idea! My nemesis as been backgrounds as well! I was painting my backgrounds with acrylics and watercolor (I got the idea from Dede Willingham) I just never thought about drawing my own background, so thank you for helping me think outside the coloring book lines!!!

It's so good, but every page is a commitment! LOL

Mistakes! We all make them & you have just shown how they can be incorporated into the design. Personally speaking I like the random aspect they give to your picture, far better than a perfect honeycomb.

I love this background, it looks so awesome! If you don’t have time to do a background maybe you could try using stencils. It would make your life so much easier. Thank you for sharing your work, you are amazing. 🤩

Stencil is a great idea! I have a little template full of different sized circles, but I know they make other templates that might work really well for that sort of thing. Great idea!

Backgrounds...my weakest point! I tend to leave them blank or use soft pastels. I only use pencils for small areas or clouds, now that I’ve learned to do them.

Should you ever need a "correct" honeycomb, try a 120° angle.

Great colouring but I had to mute the constant use of the word ‘kinda’ very irritating!
