I must say, what I loved about Simon and Daphne was how they would always appear formal with each other when they were in the company of others, but in private they always used each others names. It added to the intamcy in my opinion. Anthony and Kate didn't have much of that in s2, prefering to call each other lord and miss. But these two, they don't much care for formalities and how it would look when calling each other by their names in public. Whenever he calls her Pen (the writers were just leaving clues left and right), I just want to scream. It just shows how easy their friednship is that they feel comfortable enough to be so informal. They really did a great job of focusing on the bond between these two this season. I love the loyalty these two continue to have for each other even though Colin can't seem to open his eyes.

He was supposed to be the dashing, caring, affectionate gentlemen in all the three books, and they clearly gave that full justice to him in two seasons. But when I read the Polin book after being defeated by my curiosity, I found Colin of the book totally different. He was capable of becoming angry to the point of no sense, he spoke with sarcasm, he was downright cruel sometimes. Of course, all that came when he was with Pen. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Pen more. But I'm low key happy Pen of this adaptation doesn't look half way pliable or submissive. And she was made into a manipulative friend too. Maybe that just would work better when Colin would try to control her in their book, when he learns of her identity.

I think book Colin is way smarter, has more wit and sarcasm and he's basically the cupid of most of the couples, in the show he's just a lost boy who's got a lot to learn I guess. Their relationship here is as beautiful as the one portrayed in the books, they are different yes but I cannot say that in the book he's meaner, he's just different. But it is also true that Pen is way more submissive in the books, which isn't bad, but I'm happy with her in the show.

Yes, but he only started being that way through the fact that he begun to realise that he loved Pen. She says I the book that he would never lose his temper but he started to and it confused Penelope. I love their book just as much as I love Francesca’s book (the fact that her story is one of my favourites I so funny to me because my name is Francesca) and I hope that in their season-which I believe will be season 3 because I remember someone say that-they show him changing just like in the book.

One thing that absolutely kills me is the fact that, several times, Colin seems to be looking at her the same way she looks at him... and then he goes and friend zones her. Having read his and Penelope's book, I know how their story goes, and (spoiler alert) it does have a happy ending. But I saw both seasons before I even started reading the books. And watching it without knowing Colin's mind, the way you get to know it by reading the book, I just... I couldn't understand how he could look at her like that, and turn around and act like there's nothing between them. I don't fully know why I am so addicted to the two of them, but I am, and I will probably read their story again and again until I have the damn thing memorized. I love them so much. ❤❤❤

In their book, their romance starts when Colin is 33 and Pen is 28. (They remain just friends for that long. Violet pushes Colin to dance with Pen. Colin doesn’t talk to much to Pen. In series Colin wants to talk to Pen) She and Eloise became spinsters. After Colin comes back from Greece,Pen doesn’t have any concerns about marriage so she starts to share her mind more often and Colin sees different side of her. After a while Colin finds of Pen being LW and realises his feelings. They make out in the carriage on the way home and he asks Pen to marry him. (She wasn’t desperately waiting for Colin to see her for all those years, she didn’t had any suitors) In the book he is OVER THE TOP romantic. The reason why it took Colin to realise his feelings is he doesn’t know what love is. During their engagement, he went to see Daphne and asks her “how do you know when you are in love?”. In their engagement party he KNOWS she is the one. After that he is just Mr. Penelope Bridgerton. He doesn’t even want to leave her side. He even lie to her mother for bring the wedding forward because he doesn’t want to wait that long. (He said they had sex months before they did and she could be pregnant) In the series if they are going to end up together, Colin has to earn Pen. I think they are going to add someone to court her so Colin realise his feelings.

I t was bad what Colin said of Pen, but I think he may have some feeling for her, but what she did to Eloise was much worse. She was selfish and thought of her own needs. She fed her bf lies only to shield her own ass. Eloise and Theo were perfect, but no selfish Penny. Then she got high and mighty and called her jealous, but Penelope is into gossip, while Eloise is about female liberation, making her own way without having a man to give his input into her daily life. She lied and said she wanted to tell her so bad, but in reality, she hid for a year, and had Eloise not put 2 and 2 together, she'd never have told her. Penelope talks of keeping it real, but she tells everyone else business, but her family's. I personally think the queen and Eloise are on the same page, agenda wise. Can't wait for season 3

I can see that you really like Eloise and I do too but you should keep your mind and eyes open for everything...Eloise belongs to a strong and rich family..she literally had everything..on the other hand Penelope literally suffered all her life at the hands of society but still she managed to find her life's purpose ..I agree that she made a mistake and she realised that too but at the same time Eloise was not a friend either...all that she evr did was talk and talk...she never really listened to her friend , she never really tried to understand her... according to me she was way more selfish than Penelope...and people who are saying that she could've revealed herself...ohh please !! ...they weren't in 21st century...she didn't have a bridgeton surname...nobody should destroy themselves for the sake of saving other people who clearly aren't intersted in saving themselves

I guess if it wasn’t for Pen, Daphne and Anthony wouldn’t made love marriages. It doesn’t make it OK, when she ruin everyone’s reputation including hers. She didn’t write anything that wasn’t wrong thou anything she wrote about people,including about herself, was hears and being gossiped about. Those weren’t her secrets to share

In the book series Penelope is completely different. Marina wasn't even a thing she doesn't come in until book 5 and she was a cousin of the Bridgerton family. Penelope never betrays Eloise and she only insults people that deserve it. I like the tv series but I'm not happy with what they did with her character. She was one of the most liked characters out of the book and they turned her into a toxic childish brat.

She saved Colin from being lied to and trapped in a sham marriage. Her cousin ended up better off for the truth being told. What did she gain from the Eloise thing? She saved Eloise from the queen, by drawing the suspision away from Eloise that Eloise brought on herself. Eloise wouldn't have been suspected by the queen if she'd have listened to Pen and stopped sneaking around and trying to unmask whistledown. Eloise isn't really that great a friend and only uses Pen as a dumping ground for her frustrations and hardly even realize Pen is her own person with her own problems and dosent even share her interests and only realizes it once she has promised to stop hunting whistledown. Maybe if Eloise let her friend talk about her interests earlier she would have noticed who Pen was, but appatenly Pen is even invisible to her "best friend". Once Eloise finds a boy toy replacement for Pen, she just lies about what she is doing to her family and Pen and continues on with her investigations despite Pens warnings to stop because Eloise never actually thought of Pen as her equal, so why heed her warnings, when Eloise always knows whats best cause shes soooooo smart.
