I really like how you elaborate on what's happening. How it feels, what nozzles you are using and why, and what the owner could or should do to get the drain sorted. And your excitement when you clear out roots! I can't believe I am addicted to watching you and Ollie clear drains 🤣

Those roots looked like a thorn bush like my roses grown on. Wow those were massive. It would probably be easier to reroute his whole storm system instead of trying to clear those buggers that would just regrow being so close to if not directly in the path of that tree. Great try Gavin. I enjoy your humbleness and honesty.

Have you ever looked into getting micro root saw ? Almost 2 decades ago, We (as entity) had a 2" root saw for a midget vactor. The root saw speaking about was nothing more than a nozzle with basically a 1.5" long 6 fluted shaft bolted to the stubnose penetrator with 3 forward ports & 4 or 5 rear ports. The penetrator ports spun cutter & worked well. The most damage to even pvc was from stabbing & not by running. Maybe you can find & or fab one. Very simple. Just food for thought. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I was just thinking about your scuffed hoses. Have you considered 6 to 1 heat shrink tubing? It has epoxy inside to hold onto what it's shrunk around and may help save some hoses. Putting one every 5 meters or st may help judge distance as well. Just think of me as an electrician looking for new ways to use existing products. Try to not use the cheaper ones less than 6 to 1 shrink ratio.

Looking at the entry/exit point at the street, seems like the manufacturers of those points would somehow (either in the mold or with a grinder after the mold) round the inner edge. With the metal cover, maybe make the cover an inch or so longer and turn the end over a rod to make a nice rounded edge. Don't they realize how sharp those edges are for hoses when the pipes need to be cleaned out? Maybe all the plumbers should write to the manufacturers and suggest this for future installations - after all, why should you guys have to be extra careful not to get your hoses damaged when the problem could be prevented at the manufacturing point. // And, as usual, good job - at least fining out the problem and suggesting a solution - which sounds reasonable/feasible (putting in new pipes and bypassing the current problem). Wonder which he'll do?
