I wonder how one would finish that job without a camera to know what one is doing. I expect they jetted a hole through that pipe so it could drain, and called it done, because they simply couldn't see what was still in there, and so it promptly closed up again.

This is exactly what we are dealing with. The town I live in is small and we have what 2 plumbers I believe. Neither of them will help me in dealing with this simple problem for myself. And yes I have almost everything for my own jetting system. The plumbers say here a jetter will damage my old terracotta style drains. I don’t think so seems how they just keep coming back once or twice a year with a huge drain snake. They never once have used a snake and do not approve of me using my own. And won’t even help me figure out any of the parts to set up my jetting machine so I have to seek out KZbin and learn it for myself 😅 Thank you for your teaching’s all these vids sure help me to learn so I can save my drains from the big old snake 😎🤘

Can I make a suggestion? Go to your orange big box store. Pick up a few lids in different sizes. Cut a small hole in the center with a slit through to the edge. Instant cover for tight areas. No more trying to block small holes with your foot.

@Penetrator We call them jim caps here in the states, I have different sizes but usually jetting 4 in, so I just cut an X in the center of the rubber cap secure it to the pipe and send the hose thru the cut, it keeps a decent seal to limit splash while not damaging your hose👌

If my biz was clearing drains I would use a camera exactly like you do..its a tool, it improves he job you do making everything more efficient and absolutely leaves no doubt for the customer of the quality of your work and any issues with the drain...pricingcamerawork seperately is dumb in my view, the camera will more than for pay itself with the increase in reputation for quality work it brings and the ollow on repeat custom..

I have a question. I'm from America so I'm not sure how y'all's laws go. I know it's an issue here if your sewage leaks into the ground. There are so many roots in that pipe. Dang near every join has roots coming in. Isn't that leaking an awful lot of sewage into the ground? Again, not being a jerk, just trying to understand. Honestly though, you're the best! I love watching you because you go above and beyond for your customers. I love watching trades people who do their jobs right and care about their reputation and their customers!

My Uncle used to clear blocked sewer lines in Chicago he said every other day it was a different school from girls tossing tampons down the toilet here it is 30 years later and they still do it at least it keeps Penetrator busy

The other plumbers just pushed the "female products" down deeper in the line and it still had roots all over the place. So it was stopped up again. Called the right guy in finally .Gavin and his camera work showed a cleaned drain afterwards.

Like a lot of other people I've run into, why run the camera when digging it up for thousands more would be better for their pockets. When I did vinyl siding I had the home owner and the general contractor come in and inspect where the current construction crew was using an offshoot room wall as a urinal. The smell was horrendous and would permeate the walls later. Needless to say the general contractor had them rip out the studs and plywood and redo it. After they were done he fired them.

It looks like the pipe underground is more than one single long pipe and they weren't connected together like they should have been. That's why the roots are coming through cuz where they should have been connected aren't!!

Correct that is a good option. But not everyone will suggest than and not every client will want to pay for that

@@penetratorblockeddrains True. That's why I'd install either a T or Y for free, especially when roots will regrow in those sections of broken or misaligned pipe. You'll be called back in a couple of years and it will make it easier on you. It's only a few bucks but gives you instant access. Plus add a sticker to it with your contact info. Free advertising.

Based on this recording, if I were you, I'd be telling my friend to call the other company and demand a Refund...he spent $750.00 for a shit job...if they don't give him at least $650.00 back, he should Sue... No drain should be blocked 4 days after a competent company unblocked it since they really should have found out WHY it blocked in the first place and removed it or told him to get a crew in to dig it up and repair it if the pipe was broken or separated at a joint... They apparently didn't do that and thus didn't properly do what they were Hired to do...

Correct I use to have a seperate charge for the camera as it was the norm. But I have shifted away from that and now most jobs it’s included in my price.
